The shell includes an inlet that allows fluid flow from the housing cavity to the porous material and an outlet that allows fluid flow from the porous material to the housing interior. The inlet is positioned radially inward of the outlet.

摘要： An accessory gearbox assembly for an aircraft includes one or more intermeshed gears disposed in a gearbox housing and configured to transfer rotational energy from an engine core. An accessory component has a spur gear located at least partially in an accessory housing. The spur gear is meshed with a gear of the one or more gears thereby transferring rotational energy from the gearbox to the accessory component. A method for providing rotational energy to an accessory component at an accessory gearbox includes providing rotational energy to one or more intermeshed gears of an accessory gearbox and locating an accessory component at the accessory gearbox. The accessory component includes a spur gear disposed at least partially in an accessory housing. The spur gear is meshed with a gear of the one or more gears and rotational energy is transferred to the accessory component via the spur gear.

摘要： An engine bearing compartment is provided and includes an engine casing defining a discharge pathway for a fluid to drain from the engine bearing compartment, a shaft rotatably disposed within the engine casing to define an annulus, a housing disposed within the annulus below an elevation of the discharge pathway, an impeller rotatable with the shaft and including a centrifugal element, the impeller being disposed within the annulus at least partially below the discharge pathway elevation whereby, due to impeller rotation, the centrifugal element expels the fluid through the discharge pathway from the annulus above the discharge pathway elevation and a circuit by which fluid expelled through the discharge pathway is communicated to an interior of the housing.
