A transceiver is described which in a FDD mode of operation receives at a first frequency (F1) and transmits at a second frequency (F2); and in a TDD mode of operation receives and transmits at a third frequency (F3). The transceiver incorporates in a receiving branch at least a first mixer for forming a first intermediate frequency (IF1) from a received frequency (F1, F3) and a first local oscillator frequency (LO1); and a second mixer for forming a second intermediate frequency (IF2) from the first intermediate frequency (IF1) and the second local oscillator frequency (LO2). In a transmission branch the transceiver includes a modulator for modulating signals to be transmitted (TXI, TXQ) to a third intermediate frequency (IF3); a third mixer (16) for forming a transmission frequency (F2, F3) from a third intermediate frequency (IF3) and a fourth local oscillator frequency (LO4). Also included is a first synthesizer for forming equally high first and fourth local oscillator frequencies (LO1, LO4), and a second synthesizer and a frequency multiplier or divider and a switching arrangement for forming and switching a fourth frequency (FS) and its M times multiple (M*FS) such that the fourth frequency (FS) is an absolute value of the difference between the reception frequency (F1) and the transmission frequency (F2) of the FDD mode of operation divided by (M-1).

Thus a desired intermediate frequency signal band (IF) corresponding to the radio frequency Input signal (RF) can be selected using a switch (24), the intermediate frequency signal band (IF) being filtered by an intermediate frequency filter (20, 22). The present invention relates to an arrangement for transmitting a radio-frequency signal at two different frequency bands and for receiving at two different frequency bands. The arrangement can be applied for instance to a transceiver of a radio communications system operating at two different frequency bands, or to a transceiver meant to be used in connection with two different radio communications systems. One of the ideas of the invention is that one and the same filter (72), belonging to the RF front end of the antenna circuit, is used for filtering interference from at least two signals located at different frequency bands, in which case the number of filters (72, 75) can be reduced. By means of the solution suggested in the invention, also the number of controllable switches (73) provided on the signal path of the RF front end can be minimized.

The invention relates to a cooling construction for cooling a power transistor (4) having a plastic encapsulation, wherein the waste heat produced is conducted away mainly via the collector lead (6), the collector lead being connected to the collector strip (3) on the circuit board. When it is desired to conduct the produced waste heat specifically on the component side of the circuit board (1), it is possible to use a construction according to the invention in which there is placed on the circuit board (1) a highly heat conductive insulation plate (8) which covers the collector strip (3) entirely over part of its length next to the transistor (4), and that to the insulation plate (8) there is fixed a cooling plate (9) to which the thermal energy produced in the transistor is conducted. The insulation plate (8) may in part also extend on top of the plastic encapsulation of the transistor.
