Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to device, method, apparatus and computer readable storage medium of serving cell change procedure utilizing the multiple candidate target cells. The method comprises receiving, from a second device, configuration information associated with a serving cell change procedure of the first device, the configuration information indicating at least a first candidate cell managed by a third device and a second candidate cell managed by a fourth device available for the serving cell change procedure; performing, during the serving cell change procedure, a first random access procedure to access the first candidate cell and a second random access procedure to access the second candidate cell; and accessing to a target cell determined from the first candidate cell and the second candidate cell after the serving cell change procedure is completed. In this way, the interruption time corresponding to CHO or CPC procedure when multiple candidates are available can be reduced.

Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure relates to a user equipment (UE), centralized unit (gNB-CU) of an access node (gNB), a distributed unit (gNB-DU), and an access node for managing the UE’s state transition. In an example of the present disclosure there is provided a UE comprising means receiving, from an access node, at least one first message for transitioning the UE from an RRC connected state to an RRC inactive state, wherein the at least one message comprises configuration information that enables the UE to use Contention Free Random Access (CFRA). The UE further comprises means for sending, using CFRA based at least in part on the configuration information, at least one second message for transitioning the UE from a Radio Resource Control (RRC) inactive state to an RRC connected state.

Abstract: A radio access network element includes at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code. The at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the radio access network element to: generate a carrier aggregation configuration for a user equipment based on capability information from the user equipment, the capability information including at least supported maximum channel bandwidth information and supported minimum channel bandwidth information for each band within a band combination; and send the carrier aggregation configuration to the user equipment to configure the user equipment for communication with the radio access network element.
