    Abstract: A conformal coating system for a pipeline consists of an adhesive comprising a three-dimensional particle dispersed therein and a plurality of sensors. The adhesive is applied to an outside layer of a section of the pipeline. The sensors are dispersed along the length of the pipeline and detect an amplitude and frequency of a waveform of a force acting upon the section of the pipeline and initiate a controlled response by the particles. The controlled response is based on the amplitude and frequency of the waveform.

    Abstract: A method of converting a sign to a changing display includes first identifying an area of the sign to convert. A particle sheet is at the area of the sign, and a communication sheet is placed over the particle sheet. The particle sheet has a first layer comprising a plurality of three-dimensional SPEC particles; a second layer comprising a positively charged conductive sheet; a third layer comprising a negatively charged conductive sheet; a laminate layer; and a control element comprising a processor for activating the SPEC particles to switch from a first colored state to a second colored state. The second and third layers are positioned on either side of the first layer, and the laminate layer encompasses the first, second, and third layers. The particle sheet is activated to cause the SPEC particles to selectively flash between the first colored state and the second colored state.

    Abstract: A system for providing a customizable cosmetic substance for human application includes a first cosmetic reservoir housing a first cosmetic substance; a second cosmetic reservoir housing a second cosmetic substance; and a mixing reservoir in communication with the first and second cosmetic reservoirs, the mixing reservoir selectively receiving a portion of each of the first and second cosmetic substances from the first and second reservoirs, thereby creating a third cosmetic substance. The system further includes a non-transitory computer memory and an input device in data communication with a processor. The input device is positioned to receive input information from a user. The input information from the input device is compared to a user profile stored in the non-transitory computer memory. The portions of the first and second cosmetic substances mixed to form the third cosmetic substance are determined based on the comparison of the input information to the user profile.

    Abstract: A projection system includes a projection apparatus embodied in a housing secured to a user. The projection apparatus has a processor in data communication with a networking device, at least one input/output device, and computer memory. The computer memory includes a program with machine readable instructions that, when effected by processor, perform the following steps: (a) determine an edge of a surface to be measured; (b) project an initial image onto the surface, the initial image being based on a predetermined set of conditions; (c) determine a substantially perpendicular distance D1 between the projection apparatus and the surface; (d) determine a distance D2 between the projection apparatus and the edge of the surface; (e)calibrate the initial image based on the distances D1 and D2 determined in steps (c) and (d); and (f) project an updated image onto the surface.
