Abstract: There is provided a method for a mobile communication system comprising receiving at a communication device cell configuration information from a network node, and the configuration information being related to cells in a network area comprising a first cell and one or more second cells. Further, the method further comprises receiving at the communication device environment information indicative of overlaps between coverage areas of the first cell and the one or more second cells, and causing transmission of measurement results obtained in the first cell for use in radio resource management of the communication device in the one or more second cells.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method and device for determining carriers to be monitored. In example embodiments, a first number of carriers of a first radio access technology (RAT) to be monitored by a terminal device when operating using a second RAT is determined. The second RAT is different from the first RAT. A first total number of carriers to be monitored by the terminal device when operating using the second RAT is determined at least in part based on the first number. A second number of carriers of the second RAT to be monitored by the terminal device when operating using the first RAT is determined. A second total number of carriers to be monitored by the terminal device when operating using the first RAT is determined at least in part based on the second number. Further, when the terminal device operates using both the first and second RATs, carriers to be monitored by the terminal device are determined based on a difference between a first sum of the first and second total numbers and a second sum of the first and second numbers. In this way, terminal inter-RAT mobility may be enhanced. Meanwhile, due to the subtraction of the duplicated numbers, terminal operations may be simplified, and terminal performance may be improved.

Abstract: There is provided a method comprising: determining, by a network element in communication with a terminal device, to initiate allocation of radio resources to the terminal device from at least one further carrier; as a response to the determining, requesting, from the terminal device, a measurement report for determining at least one cell for providing said radio resources from the at least one further carrier; as a response to the requesting, acquiring the measurement report from the terminal device; determining whether the measurement report indicates one or more cell candidates for providing said radio resources; and as a response to the determining that the measurement report indicates the one or more cell candidates, determining the at least one cell among the one or more cell candidates for providing said radio resources to the terminal device from the at least one further carrier.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product where a user equipment, in a wireless communications system, measures downlink radio quality based on available downlink signals. The user equipment compares the measured downlink radio quality with RLM thresholds. Based on that comparison, the user equipment determines its in-sync or out-of-sync status. Prior to the measuring, the user equipment can determine the RLM thresholds based on hypothetical NPDCCH channels; can receive in-sync and out-of-sync thresholds from the base station; can receive an additional offset for in-sync and out-of-sync thresholds under enhanced coverages and can determine the RLM thresholds for normal converge on the hypothetical NPDCCH channels; or can receive an offset between in-sync and out-of-sync thresholds from a base station and determine the RLM out-of-sync threshold based on the hypothetical NPDCCH channels and the RLM in-of-sync threshold based on the out-of-sync threshold and the offset provided by the base station.
