Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for multi-channel communications are disclosed. A method provides precoding, based on sounding reference signal received from a communication device, reference signal ports in spatial and frequency domain by determining pairs of spatial and frequency domain components where the frequency domain components are arranged in clusters comprising one or more frequency domain components, and pairing of at least one of the spatial domain components with at least two clusters of frequency domain components is enabled; sending information of the precoding to the other communication device; and combining the precoding with a report of precoding received in response from the other communication device. Another method provides sending of the sounding reference signal; receiving, the information of the precoding; performing port selection operation based on the clustered information of frequency domain components; and preparing and sending the report based on the selection operation.

Abstract: There is provided a method at a network node of a communication network, comprising: receiving an uplink reference signal from a user equipment; estimating, based on the received uplink reference signal, delay information regarding a delay profile of a communication channel between the user equipment and the network node and spatial information regarding the communication channel; applying both the delay information and the spatial information in precoding of at least one downlink reference signal; transmitting the at least one precoded downlink reference signal to the user equipment; and receiving, from the user equipment as a response to the transmission of the at least one precoded downlink reference signal, channel information, the channel information indicating at least non-zero coefficients of at least one channel transmission layer.

Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for co-polarized transmission and port selection associated therewith are provided. For example, a method can include feeding back compressed channel state information. The channel state information can include combining coefficients used to combine a number of space domain, frequency domain, or both space and frequency domain ports. At least one layer can be restricted to be transmitted on one polarization. The feedback for the at least one layer only involves the combining coefficients on the one polarization.

Abstract: A UE determines a PMI, by performing at least the following: determining an intermediate set of vectors from a FD codebook; forming a subset of the intermediate set of vectors; mapping the subset of vectors to a combinatorial indicator; and forming the PMI at least from the combinatorial indicator. The UE sends the PMI toward a wireless network. A base station receives the PMI from the UE. The PMI includes a combinatorial indicator that maps to a subset of vectors from the FD codebook. The base station determines, using at least the received PMI, information from at least the FD codebook to apply to data for transmission toward the UE.

The method comprises determining, at a terminal device, a matrix comprising a set of non-zero linear combination coefficients for quantizing a channel between the terminal device and a network device, the matrix having spatial components and frequency components; shifting the frequency components of the matrix circularly, such that a target coefficient of the set of non-zero linear combination coefficients is located in a frequency component with a predetermined index of the frequency components in a shifted matrix; generating a first indication indicating the spatial component associated with the target coefficient in the matrix; and transmitting, to the network device, uplink control information comprising the first indication. In this way, a new solution for designing the UCI may reduce the overhead for reporting the parameters in the UCI.
