摘要: A PCV valve is arranged in an outflow passage. An ECU controls rotation of a motor such that an opening degree of the PCV valve increases in response to an increase in an opening degree of a throttle valve. The outflow passage connects an interior of a head cover of an engine to a portion of an intake air passage located on a downstream side of the throttle valve. The outflow passage recirculates blow-by gas leaked from a combustion chamber into an interior of a crankcase to the portion of the intake air passage located on the downstream side of the throttle valve. An inflow passage connects the interior of the head cover to a portion of the intake air passage located on an upstream side of the throttle valve. The inflow passage conducts intake air from the intake air passage to the interior of the head cover.

摘要: A fuel adsorption layer formed in a canister is partitioned into an upper adsorption layer and a lower adsorption layer by a partition plate in which a heater is embedded. The relation between a heating value of the heater and thickness X of the upper and lower adsorption layers is set so that the temperature of a part closest to the heater heating face of the fuel adsorption layer is lower than a fire point of the fuel, and the temperature of a part farthest from the heater heating face is higher than the boiling point of the fuel. With the configuration, by heating the fuel adsorption layer by the heater, the desorption performance of activated carbon is improved, and almost all of the fuel vapors adsorbed can be desorbed.

摘要: A CPU measures an actual air-fuel ratio based on the signals detected by the air-fuel ratio sensor. When the difference between the actual air-fuel ratio and a target air-fuel ratio is larger than a predetermined value, the computer determines that a fuel vapor amount purged into the intake passage deviates from a target value due to an incorrectness of a reference flow quantity of the purge valve. The computer calculates an actual reference flow quantity based on a measured actual air-fuel ratio, and rewrites the reference flow quantity corresponding to a current intake pressure into the calculated the reference flow quantity. Thereby, the difference between the actual air-fuel ratio and the target air-fuel ratio can be reduced.

摘要: A fuel property detection device for detecting a property of fuel based on a detection signal output from a photoreceptor includes a light guiding member having a reflecting surface located in direct contact with the fuel. The light guiding member includes a light emitting surface through which measurement light from a light source is emitted from the light guiding member into the fuel, a light incident surface through which the measurement light emitted from the light emitting surface and passing through the fuel enters again the light guiding member, and the reflecting surface from which the measurement light incident from the light incident surface is reflected toward the photoreceptor. The light incident surface and the light emitting surface are opposite to each other to have a space therebetween in the light guiding member, and the space is provided to be filled with the fuel.

摘要: An ECU computes a transit time from a time when the fuel vapor passes the purge valve right after the purge valve is opened until a time when the fuel vapor reaches a vicinity of the fuel injector. Further more, the ECU computes a fuel vapor concentration at the vicinity of the fuel injector after the transit time has elapsed based on a first-order lag curve which is defined by a maximum variation of the fuel vapor concentration and a time constant. Correcting the fuel injection quantity according to the fuel vapor concentration at the vicinity of the injector restricts a disturbance of air-fuel ratio at a time of starting purge process.

摘要: A fuel vapor processing apparatus includes a canister, a purge passage, a detection passage including an atmosphere passage and a restrictor, a passage changing valve for changing the connection passage of the detection passage between the purge passage and the atmosphere passage, a pump connecting with the detection passage on the opposite side of the passage changing valve across the restrictor, a pressure sensor for detecting a pressure between the restrictor and the pump, and an ECU for computing the concentration of fuel vapor. When the passage changing valve causes the purge passage to connect with the detection passage and the pump reduces pressure in the detection passage to pass the air-fuel mixture through the restrictor, the pressure sensor detects the pressure during a detection period of time that elapses after the air-fuel mixture passes through the restrictor until the air-fuel mixture reaches the pump.

摘要: An evaporative fuel treatment system is disclosed that includes a canister, a detection passage having a reduced area portion, and switching device that switches fluid communication. Also included is a depressurizing device for depressurizing the detection passage coupled to the detection passage on a side of the reduced area portion opposite to the switching device, and a pressure detecting device. Moreover, the system includes an evaporative fuel state calculating device for calculating an evaporative fuel state in the mixture based on a cutoff pressure, an air pressure, and a mixture pressure of a mixture of air and the evaporative fuel. In one embodiment, the cutoff pressure, the air pressure, and the mixture pressure are detected independently and discontinuously. In another embodiment, the cutoff pressure and the air pressure are detected on a continual basis during purge of the evaporative fuel.

摘要: A butterfly valve restricts flow passage areas of a purge passage and a blow-by gas passage by the same degree. A first pressure sensor detects variation in pressure of the purge gas, which is generated by the butterfly valve. A second pressure sensor detects variation in pressure of the blow-by gas, which is generated by the butterfly valve. Since a fuel vapor concentration of the blow-by gas is lower than that of the purge gas, the blow-by gas can be treated as air of 100%. Hence, the fuel vapor concentration is calculated based on the variations in pressure detected by the first pressure sensor and the second pressure sensor.
