Abstract:
A first light blocking portion and a second light blocking portion are formed in at least one of the side surfaces of a light guide prism. The first light blocking portion and the second light blocking portion are arranged so that a shaded area and an invisible area overlap each other at least partly and cover an inter-groove area between the first light blocking portion and the second light blocking portion, where the shaded area is an area shadowed from image light due to the first light blocking portion, and the invisible area is an area invisible during virtual image observation by the observer due to the second light blocking portion.

A head mounted display that is attached to an eyeglass frame for use, includes: a first unit and a second unit. The first unit includes a first electrical component including a display element and an eyepiece optical part that allows a user to observe a display image by the display element as a virtual image. The second unit which is a temple tip for display device having a temple connecting part to which a temple of the eyeglass frame is attachable includes a second electrical component and an attachment part in which the first unit is detachably engaged and supported. When the first unit is engaged and supported in the attachment part, the first electrical component and the second electrical component are electrically coupled.
Abstract:
The head-mounted display device includes a display element, a light guide prism that, in a state of use, guides a regular image light beam from the display element to an exit surface in front of the user's eye, and a support that secures the display element and the light guide prism with respect to the user's head. On at least one side along the optical axis of the regular image light beam, the light guide prism includes at least one first-type inclined surface at a position outside of the region through which the regular image light beam from the display element passes, and the first-type inclined surface is formed to be inclined so as to cause light incident on the first-type inclined surface from a direction along the optical axis of the regular image light beam to be reflected and emitted to the outside of the user's eyeball.
Abstract:
Provided is a light guide prism including: an incident surface; one or more reflection surfaces, the reflection surfaces including at least an emission side reflection surface; and an emission surface, in which the light guide prism has a tip face positioned between the emission side reflection surface and the emission surface, the tip face most protruding from an end of the emission side reflection surface and from an end of the emission surface in a direction in which a width between the emission side reflection surface and the emission surface narrows, the tip face being a curved face. Further provided is an image display apparatus including: a display device; the light guide prism; and a support.
Abstract:
Provided is a light guide prism including: an incident surface on which image light from a display device is incident; one or more reflection surfaces which reflect the image light incident thereon, the reflection surfaces including at least an emission side reflection surface; and an emission surface forming an acute angle with the emission side reflection surface and emitting the image light reflected by the emission side reflection surface, toward an eyeball of an observer. In one aspect, the light guide prism includes a prism tip disposed as protruding from an end of the emission side reflection surface and from an end of the emission surface, in a direction in which a width between the emission side reflection surface and the emission surface narrows. Further provided is an image display apparatus including: a display device which emits image light; the light guide prism; and a support.
Abstract:
A light guide prism for guiding image light from a display device to an observer's eye and displaying a virtual image of the display device in the observer's field of view includes at least four sides disposed to surround an optical path of image light incident from one end, a reflecting surface configured to reflect the image light guided by the at least four sides, and an emission surface configured to emit the image light reflected at the reflecting surface towards the observer's eye. At least one groove in a V-shape is formed on each of the at least four sides. As a result, a light guide prism that reduces stray light and ghost light occurring due to reflection at inner surfaces and an image display apparatus using this light guide prism can be provided.
Abstract:
A head-mounted display device includes an eyeglass frame, including a rim, for fixing the head-mounted display device onto a wearer's head, a display that displays an image, and an eyepiece optical unit that guides light of an image displayed on the display into at least one of the wearer's eyes to display the image as an enlarged virtual image. The display and the eyepiece optical unit are attached to the rim, an optical axis of incident light that is image light incident on the eyepiece optical unit from the display and an optical axis of exiting light that is image light exiting from the eyepiece optical unit towards the wearer's eye are not coplanar, and the angle between an incident light vector formed by the incident light and an exiting light vector formed by the exiting light is greater than 90°.
Abstract:
To improve a balance of weight and improve wearing comfort of a user. A head-mounted display device is provided which includes a display having a display element, an electronic circuit board which controls the display, a battery which supplies power to the electronic circuit board and the display, and a holder which holds these components at the head of the user, and the battery is disposed at an opposite side of the display over a position held by the holder.
Abstract:
An eyeglass-type wearable device includes a first temple part that is positioned along one temporal region of a user, a second temple part that is positioned along the other temporal region of the user, and a front part that is positioned in front of the face of the user, when the eyeglass-type wearable device is worn by the user. The first temple part includes a first electrical unit, and the second temple part includes a second electrical unit. The front part includes a first connection section to which the first temple part is connected, a second connection section to which the second temple part is connected, and a connection line that electrically connects the first electrical unit of the first temple part and the second electrical unit of the second temple part when the first temple part and the second temple part are connected to the front part.
