Abstract: A face protecting apparatus for protecting a user from droplets and solids containing bacteria, viruses, and other hazardous materials. The apparatus includes a face shield and a frame member. The face shield includes an elongated planar surface, a plurality of bilateral angled creases and a plurality of openings. The elongated planar surface creates a seal at the user's chest when the user bends forward thereby providing a protective barrier to ejected debris. The bilateral angled creases provide a concave configuration to the face shield that brings the face shield into close proximity to the face of the user. The openings enable a fiber optic LED light and a plurality of loupe magnifiers of a loupe device worn by the user to protrude therethrough thus enabling the user to wear the face protecting apparatus in combination with the loupe device and the fiber optic LED light without any obstruction.

Abstract: A lighting device comprising a plurality of lighting modules arranged concentrically about an optical axis is disclosed wherein the plurality of lighting modules emit light in at least one of a plurality of wavelength ranges (UV, visible (e.g., blue, green, yellow, orange, red, white, etc.), IR) and are arranged at a non-parallel angle to an optical axis of the lighting device, wherein the emitted light is directed towards a lens system that focuses the light onto a viewing point. A second lighting device is disclosed, wherein the lighting device comprises a plurality of lighting modules arranged concentrically about an inner circumference of the lighting device, wherein the plurality of lighting modules emit light in at least one of a plurality of wavelength ranges (UV, visible (e.g., blue, green, yellow, orange, red, white, etc.), IR) onto a lighting director device that redirects the emitted light toward a lens system that focuses the light onto a viewing point.

Abstract: A loupe is bonded to a glasses-type holder to be worn around a head of a user. The loupe includes: a tube framework inserted into a hole or a cutout formed in the glasses-type holder and bonded with a UV adhesive; and a lens held in the tube framework. At least a portion at which the UV adhesive is applied in the tube framework is made of a resin not resistant to acetone and is covered with a paint resistant to acetone.

Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods that implement waveguides in curved transparent combiners that are well-suited for use in wearable heads-up displays (WHUDs) are described. Waveguide structures with in-couplers and out-couplers are integrated with curved eyeglass lenses to provide transparent combiners that substantially match the shape, size, and geometry of conventional eyeglass lenses and can, in some implementations, embody prescription curvatures to serve as prescription eyeglass lenses. The waveguides and in-/out-couplers are planar or curved depending on the implementation.WHUDs that employ such curved transparent combiners are also described.

Abstract: A pair of front hanging eyeglasses includes a lens frame and two lenses combined with the lens frame. The lens frame includes a connecting arm and at least one fastening portion. The fastening portion includes an upper portion extending outside from a surface of the connecting arm and an extension portion extending downward from the upper portion. A connecting slot is defined between the connecting arm and the at least one fastening portion. A magnet is provided on the upper portion or the extension portion and located in the connecting slot. The fastening portion is adapted to be hung on an iron spectacle frame, and the magnet is magnetically mounted on the spectacle frame for the pair of front hanging eyeglasses adhering to a pair of eyeglasses with a common iron spectacle frame.

Abstract: A first side of the outer shell of a spectacle lens faces away from the inner shell and forms the front side of the spectacle lens, and the first side of the inner shell faces away from the outer shell and forms the rear side of the spectacle lens. The outer shell includes the coupling-in section, the light guiding channel and the coupling-out section. The inner shell includes an opening which extends from the second side of the inner shell, which faces towards the outer shell, in the direction of the rear side and in which the light guiding channel sits. The coupling-out section lies next to the opening such that the light bundles coupled out by the coupling-out section enter the inner shell via the second side of the inner shell, run through the inner shell and leave the inner shell via the rear side.
