Abstract:
This is a method of collapsing an artificial blood vessel A. The artificial blood vessel A comprises a pair of discrete end wire rings 10.sub.1, 10.sub.2, a tubular cover 7 made of a sheet of flexible, tensile material which connects the end wire rings 10.sub.1, 10.sub.2, and a plurality of intermediate wire rings 12 arranged spaced apart between the end wire rings 10.sub.1, 10.sub.2 and circumferentially fixed to the cover 7 by suturing or with adhesive. A plurality of dividing points 41.sub.1, 43.sub.1 which bisect the circumference of the front end wire ring 10.sub.1 are pulled forward while the movement of the midpoints 42.sub.1, 44.sub.1 between the dividing points 41.sub.1, 43.sub.1 following the movement of the dividing points 41.sub.1, 43.sub.1 are restrained by the projections 18c on a tapered surface 18d of a funnelled tube 18 so as to fold the front end wire ring 10.sub.1 into a wavy shape, with the dividing points 43.sub.1, 43.sub.1 forming forwardly directed peaks and the midpoints 42.sub.1, 44.sub.1 forming the bottoms of forwardly directed valleys, and the dividing points of the front wire ring are pulled farther forward so as to fold the intermediate wire rings 12 and the rear end wire ring 10.sub.2 into a regular wavy shape having the same phase as that of the front wire ring 10.sub.1 by the effect of restraint by the tapered surface 18d and the projections 18c, thereby to collapse the artificial blood vessel A as a whole into a small size.
Abstract:
A device for introducing an implantable appliance into a catheter including an attachment connected to said open end of catheter, the attachment being closed at its open end by a flexible check valve. A cartridge is removably attachable to the catheter attachment with the cartridge when attached having a front end portion communicating with the catheter and its other end closed by a second flexible check valve. This second check valve is open when the appliance to be implanted is introduced into the cartridge but thereafter is kept closed and the front end portion of the cartridge with the appliance now inside is inserted into to the first check valve of the attachment.
Abstract:
The device of the invention is provided with a pair of patches each comprising a resilient, foldable annular frame and a piece of cloth stretched over and fixed to the frame. The patches are so arranged as to face each other across a gap and sewed together concentrically with a thread slightly inwardly of the outer circumferential edge thereof in such a manner that as the thread is pulled, the two patches are moved so as to approach each other.
Abstract:
A hollow stabilizer embodying the invention is made of a curved welded metal pipe. The seam of the welded pipe takes a specific position which is determined by the ratio of the layer thickness of the pipe to the outer diameter thereof and by the ratio of the radius of curvature of the curved section thereof to the outer diameter thereof. In case both ratios are relatively large, the seam is so positioned that it extends along a curve having as small or large a curvature as possible and that an angle of about 30.degree. at most is defined by a line passing the axis of the pipe and the center of curvature thereof and a line passing the axis and the seam of the pipe. In case both ratios are relatively small, the seam is so positioned that it extends along a curve having as small a curvature as possible and that an angle of 45.degree. at most is defined by said lines.
Abstract:
A treatment aiding device includes a flexible shaft; a filter; linear supporting members; an elastomer member composed of an elastomer in which a penetrating hole is formed, which elastomer member is arranged in the proximal side relative to the opening section of the filter such that the shaft penetrates the penetrating hole, wherein the outer diameter of the end face in which the penetrating hole is formed is larger than the outer diameter of the opening-section side of the filter when the filter is closed; and an outer tube in which a penetrating hole is formed, which outer tube is arranged in the proximal side relative to the opening section of the filter such that the shaft penetrates the penetrating hole in a state which allows movement of the shaft in the longitudinal direction; wherein the elastomer member is fixed in the distal side of the outer tube.
Abstract:
Provided is a device for capturing debris in blood vessels, which enables a filter member to be smoothly recovered, and has a simple structure leading to an easy operation. For this purpose, provided is an elastic steel wire that, in a folded state, extends in a direction toward a base of a slide tube from a fore end part of a holding part in a ringlike elastic wire rod along an outer side of the slide tube.
Abstract:
In a connector including first and second contacts having first and second contact points, respectively, an actuator is provided rotatable between a closed position and an open position and includes a cam portion faced to a connection object and a cutout portion adjacent to the cam portion. The first contact further has an engaging portion and a first beam portion elastically supporting the engaging portion to a housing. The engaging portion has a recess faced to the connection object and engaged with the cam portion. The second contact further has a contacting portion disposed at the cutout portion and a second beam portion elastically supporting the contacting portion to the housing. The contacting portion has a shape such that the contacting portion surrounds the cam portion in cooperation with the recess and biases the actuator towards the open position when the actuator is located near the open position.
Abstract:
A television audiovisual apparatus using a personal computer comprises an audio/video I/O interface including a television tuner, disposed in the personal computer, and an information compression/decompression unit for compressing audio/video signals input through the audio/video I/O interface in accordance with the MPEG2 specifications to store the compressed audio/video signals in a large capacity storage disposed in the personal computer, and for decompressing compressed audio/video signals in accordance with the MPEG2 specifications.
Abstract:
The artificial blood vessel A comprises a front end wire ring 101, a rear end wire ring 102 arranged facing to the front end wire ring 101, a tubular cover 7 which connects the end wire rings 101, 102, and a plurality of intermediate wire rings 12 arranged spaced apart from each other between the front end wire ring 101 and the rear end wire ring 102. Each of the front end wire ring 101, the rear end wire ring 102 and the intermediate wire rings 12 are given flexibly foldable elasticity.
