摘要： An intake system for a V-type multi-cylinder internal combustion engine includes an elongated collector housing disposed between two rows of cylinders in such a way as to longitudinally extend across the rows of cylinders at substantially the center thereof and at right angles. The collector housing have at the opposite ends spaced along the rows of the cylinders a plurality of openings in two rows. Two groups of intake pipes for the above described two rows of the cylinders are respectively connected to the opposite lateral ends of the collector housing in such a way as to communicate the openings. The intake pipes extend curvedly toward the rows of the cylinders and away from the collector housing and further extend curvedly toward the intake ports and in such a way as to have adjacent the intake ports, circumferential walls which extend across the axes of the intake ports and thereafter extend nearly coaxially with the intake ports.

摘要： Disclosed is an upper connecting structure of a side rail and a center pillar. The side rail has a closed cross section constituted by a side rail outer member and a side rail inner member disposed inside of the side rail outer member. A ridge line extending in a lengthwise direction of a vehicle is formed by an upper surface and a side surface of the side rail outer member. Further, a plurality of bead sections are formed over the upper and side surfaces of the side rail outer member across the ridge line. More specifically, a pair of bead sections are formed with a connection portion of the side rail outer member and the center pillar between so as to securely prevent the upper connecting structure from being collapsed.

The center pillar has a yieldable portion thereon and it can absorb an impact energy by bending itself. The center tunnel has a reinforcement panel reinforced from underneath.

摘要： A side body structure of a motor vehicle includes a first and second crash boxes at the connecting portion of a side sill and a rear wheel arch. The first crash box is provided outside of a side sill reinforcement and the second crash box is inside the side sill reinforcement. The second crash box is connected with a cross member extended in a transversal direction of the vehicle. In the event of a side impact, first the first crash box collapses and then the second crash box does. Finally, the impact energy is transferred to and absorbed by other body structures through the cross member. The side sill portion and the rear wheel arch portion can be prevented from intruding into a rear compartment so as to save passengers from serious injury.
