Abstract: An information communication method includes: setting an exposure time of an image sensor to less than or equal to 1/2000 second so that, in an image obtained by capturing a subject by the image sensor, a stripe bright line parallel to a plurality of exposure lines included in the image sensor appears according to a change in luminance of the subject; obtaining the image including the stripe bright line parallel to the plurality of exposure lines by, using the set exposure time, starting exposure sequentially for the plurality of exposure lines each at a different time; and obtaining information by demodulating data according to, in a pattern of the bright line included in the obtained image, a brightness change in a direction perpendicular to the plurality of exposure lines.

Abstract: An information communication method that obtains information from a subject includes setting an exposure time of an image sensor that, in an image obtained, a bright line corresponding to each of a plurality of exposure lines included in the image sensor appears, according to a change in luminance of the subject. A bright line image, in which the bright line is shown along with surroundings of the subject, is obtained by starting exposure of each of the exposure lines included in the image sensor at a sequentially different time. The bright line image is displayed and information is obtained when, in the bright line image, a part corresponding to the bright line is tapped, by demodulating data specified by a direction generally perpendicular to the exposure line in a pattern of the bright line corresponding to the tapped part.

Abstract: A visible light communication method transmits a signal by visible light communication. The visible light communication method includes modulating the signal into a predetermined blinking pattern, and transmitting the signal by causing visible light to blink according to the predetermined blinking pattern, from a projector disposed in an indoor space surrounded by a wall toward the wall. The visible light communication method also includes projecting video from the projector toward the wall, wherein the visible light is reflected by the wall to prevent the signal from being received in an outside of the indoor space, and the signal is used to transmit data related to the video projected to a terminal in the indoor space.

Abstract: A signal generating method for generating a visible light signal is provided. The method includes determining, as a method for transmitting a visible light signal from a transmitter, one of a single-frame transmitting method for transmitting data as one frame and a multiple-frame transmitting method for transmitting the data while dividing the data into a plurality of frames. The method further includes, when the multiple-frame transmitting method is determined, generating partition type information indicating a type of data to be transmitted, and generating combination data by adding the partition type information to the data to be transmitted. Further, the method includes generating the plurality of frames each of which includes each of a plurality of data parts by dividing the combination data into the plurality of data parts, and generating the visible light signal by adding a preamble to a head of each of the plurality of frames.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided that includes a light source, a memory storing a visible light signal, a control circuit configured to control change in luminance of the light source in accordance with the visible light signal, and a receiver configured to receive another visible light signal, which rewrites over the visible light signal, by a communication method that is different from a visible light communication. The control circuit determines whether the visible light signal is rewritten by the another visible light signal or not when the receiver receives the another visible light signal, and the visible light signal is rewritten by the another visible light signal when the control circuit determines the visible light signal is rewritten by the another visible light signal. The control circuit controls the change in luminance of the light source to transmit the another visible light signal.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided that includes a display, a processor, and a recording medium having a program that causes the processor to execute operations, including obtaining a first image by image capture with a first exposure time by starting exposure for a plurality of exposure lines in an image sensor. The operations also include obtaining a second image, including a plurality of bright lines, by capturing a subject changing in luminance by the image sensor with a second exposure time by starting exposure for the plurality of exposure lines in the image sensor. The operations further include obtaining information by demodulating data specified by a pattern of the plurality of bright lines included in the obtained second image, and displaying a first image on the display during a period of obtaining of the second image using the image sensor.

Abstract: A signal decoding method which enables communication between various devices is disclosed according to one aspect. The signal decoding method includes: a step SF1 of determining whether or not a Datapart length that is a bit length of a data part included in a packet of a visible light signal is an eight bit; and a step SF2 of decoding the data part according to a result of the determination of the Datapart length, and, in step SF2, the decoding is performed according to LSB first when it is determined in step SF1 that the Datapart length is not an eight-bit length, and the decoding is performed according to MSB first when it is determined in step SF1 that the Datapart length is the eight-bit length.
