    Abstract: A joystick includes a casing, a stick body, an identification mark and an optical sensor. The casing has a hole. The stick body is movably disposed on the casing. The stick body has a first section and a second section. The first section penetrates through the hole to protrude from the casing, and the second section is inside the casing. The identification mark is disposed on the second section of the stick body. The identification includes a first line group and a second line group crossed to each other. The first line group and the second line group respectively has a plurality of lines with different widths and arranged adjacent to each other. The optical sensor is disposed inside the casing and adapted to acquire an identification image containing the identification mark to determine a gesture of the stick body.

    Abstract: A movement detection method, applied to a navigation input device with a navigation pattern comprising a center pattern and a radial pattern. The movement detection method comprises: (a)capturing a sensing image comprising a center pattern image and at least portion of a radial pattern image by an image sensor, wherein the center pattern image corresponds to the center pattern and the radial pattern image corresponding to the radial pattern; (b)computing a translation of the navigation input device according to shift of the center pattern image; and (c)computing a rotation angle of the navigation input device according to a first pattern relation between the center pattern image and a first portion of the radial pattern image. The translation and the rotation angle can be precisely and sensitively detected even if the joystick device is miniaturized, since the translation and the rotation angle are computed according to the navigation pattern.

    Abstract: A cursor control method, for moving a cursor on a first displayed image and a second displayed image, comprising: (a) receiving a first displacement value when the cursor is within a first region of the first displayed image and receiving a second displacement value when the cursor is within a second region of the first displayed image; (b) moving the cursor with a first moving value on the first displayed image, which is obtained from the first displacement value and a first ratio; and (d) moving the cursor with a second moving value on a second displayed image, which is obtained from the second displacement value and a second ratio; wherein the first ratio is different from the second ratio; wherein the second displayed image is a zoom out and partial image of the first displayed image. By this way, the cursor movement accuracy can be increased.

The stick body includes a pressing portion, an indication portion and an identification pattern. The indication portion is connected to the pressing portion and inserts into the hole. The optical sensor is disposed inside the casing and faces the sunken structure, and adapted to analyze a movement of the identification pattern to identify a control status of the stick body.

    Abstract: The disclosure is related to a sensor module, a sensor unit and a system for recognizing surrounding objects and defining an environment. The sensor module is installed in a sensor unit. The sensor module includes an optical element guiding the lights from the objects surrounding the sensor unit and to an image sensor, and the image sensor is used to sense the lights from the objects. The light can be directly from a light source inside the surrounding object or reflected by the object surface. The objects can be identified according to optical features obtained by the image sensor from surfaces of the objects. When the image sensor receives the two lights, guided by the optical element, and reads optical features being regarded as the unique IDs to identify the objects respectively. Therefore, an environment around the sensor unit can be defined.

    Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure provides a handheld pointer device and a tilt angle adjustment method thereof. The tilt angle adjustment method includes the following steps. Images corresponding to the position of a reference point are captured as the handheld pointer device pointing toward the reference point to generate a plurality of frames. Whether the reference point has substantially moved is subsequently determined based on the plurality of frames. When determines that the reference point has not substantially moved, causes an accelerometer unit of the handheld pointer device to detect the accelerations thereof over various axes so as to update a first tilt angle being used currently to a second tilt angle, accordingly. The handheld pointer device may thus accurately and efficiently calculate the relative position of the reference point with the appropriate tilt angle of the handheld pointer device used.
