Abstract: A portable electronic device and an operation method are provided. The portable electronic device includes a body, a screen, a camera, an image sensor and a main system. The image sensor continually captures a first image outside the body with a first resolution and a first power consumption. The camera is turned on in the first state of the portable electronic device by the main system to capture a second image outside the body with a second power consumption and a second resolution only when the face image information appeared for over two seconds on the screen is detected by the image sensor from the first image. The second resolution is higher than the first resolution, and the second power consumption is higher than the first power consumption.

The database is electrically connected to the processing module. The sensor module configured for capturing at least one image. The at least one image is stored in the database. The processing captures a contour of an object from the at least one image and separates the contour of the object into a plurality of portions. A plurality of arrangements is defined between the portions of the contour of the object. The processing module determines a state of the contour of the object based on the arrangements.

Abstract: A method for detecting motion information includes the following steps. First, a pixel array is provided for detecting an image of a measured object located in a first distance range or in a second distance range, and the pixel array includes a plurality of invisible image sensing pixels and a plurality of visible image sensing pixels. Then, image detection is conducted within the first distance range by using the invisible image sensing pixels to output a plurality of invisible images. Next, the image detection is conducted within the second distance range by using the visible image sensing pixels to output a plurality of visible images. Then, the plurality of invisible images and the plurality of visible images are analyzed by using a processing unit, so as to obtain motion information of the measured object. A pixel array for detecting motion information and an image sensor are also provided.

Abstract: A method for detecting motion information includes the following steps. Abstract: There is provided an imaging system including a camera and a control host. The camera identifies ambient light intensity and performs trigger event detection in a low power mode. When the camera detects a trigger event in the low power mode, the control host is woken up. The camera also determines an exposure mode according the ambient light intensity and informs the exposure mode to the control host such that an operating mode of the control host after being woken up matches the exposure mode of the camera.
