    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for indicating actual transport block size (TBS) on shaping encoding. For example, in shaping encoding, instead of using a compensated rate code (e.g., by padding or truncating) for a fixed number of output bits that is often different from the TBS scheduled, the present disclosure supports using multiple actual TBS for a given nominal TBS to improve efficiency of the shaping encoder. A transmitter (e.g., a network entity or use equipment (UE)) may encode a payload size of bits with a shaping encoder to obtain a transport block (TB), which has an actual TBS. The actual TBS is selected from a set of TBSs based on a nominal TBS. The transmitter then transmits to a receiver, an indication of the actual TBS. The indication enables the receiver to decode the corresponding encoded bits. The transmitter then transmits the TB to the receiver.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) or a base station may generate a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) waveform from separate DFT inputs of data content, a guard interval (GI) sequence, and tail suppression samples. The UE or the base station may generate a first communication with the DFT waveform using an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) operation. The first communication may include, in a time domain, a data signal corresponding to the data content and a GI-based tail signal that corresponds to the GI sequence and that is suppressed with a tail suppression signal based at least in part on the tail suppression samples. The UE or the base station may transmit the first communication. Numerous other aspects are described.

    Abstract: The apparatus may be a device at a UE or a base station. The UE (or base station) may be configured to measure a phase noise of a first local oscillator associated with a first port. The UE (or base station) may further be configured to configure, based on the measured phase noise, an allocation of a first set of one or more REs of a PUSCH (or PDSCH) for at least one PT-RS associated with the first port. The first set of one or more REs may include multiple layers associated with a multiple-layer single-carrier waveform transmission. The UE (or base station) may also be configured to transmit, to a base station (or a UE), the PUSCH (or PDSCH) including the at least one PT-RS, the at least one PT-RS being transmitted via the configured allocation of the first set of one.

Aspects provide for adapting waveforms to account for impairments that can occur when communicating in a high frequency band. A method that may be performed by a base station (BS) includes detecting one or more impairment conditions. The method includes determining a plurality of waveform parameters to adapt in response to the detected one or more impairment conditions.     Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a UE determines a configuration of a common PUCCH resource set that is based on a frequency hopping pattern and includes a first set of resource blocks (RBs) of a bandwidth part (BWP) in a first group of symbols and a second set of RBs of the BWP in a second group of symbols. In some designs, the second set of RBs is offset in frequency from the first set of RBs by a fixed hopping distance. In other designs, the BWP is further associated with a second PUCCH resource set that includes a third set of RBs of the BWP that overlaps in part with the first set of RBs of the BWP in the first group of symbols, a fourth set of RBs of the BWP that overlaps in part with the second set of RBs of the BWP in the second group of symbols, or a combination thereof.
