摘要:
A method of determining whether an individual has Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) comprising: sampling the peripheral skin temperature of a human subject during a predetermined time interval when the subject is in an inactive state to provide sampled peripheral skin temperature data; and analyzing the sampled peripheral skin temperature data for a pre-selected parameter, to determine whether said pre-selected parameter has a value indicative of ADD.

A method of reducing the symptoms of an individual having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) comprising: displaying an image, having a level of obscuration, to an individual with the symptoms of ADHD; sampling the peripheral skin temperature of the individual to provide sampled peripheral skin temperature data and reducing the level of obscuration of the image as a function of the sampled peripheral skin temperature data in order to minimize the symptoms of ADHD.

A method of determining whether an individual has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) comprising: sampling the peripheral skin temperature of a human subject during a predetermined time interval when the subject is in an inactive state to provide a sampled peripheral skin temperature signal containing noise: modulating said sampled peripheral skin temperature signal containing noise with a known reference signal to produce a modulated signal; inputting said modulated signal and said known reference signal to a lock-in amplifier to produce a sampled peripheral skin temperature signal free of said noise; and analyzing the sampled peripheral skin temperature signal for a pre-selected parameter to determine whether said predetermined parameter has a value indicative of ADHD.
摘要:
This invention features a method of determining whether an individual has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder by sampling the peripheral skin temperature of an individual in an inactive state and manipulating the resulting temperature data to produce a value which is indicative of whether or not the individual has ADHD.

A method for determining the appropriate dosage of a medication to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in an individual who has ADHD comprising: sampling the peripheral skin temperature of a human subject during a predetermined time interval when the subject is in an inactive state to provide sampled peripheral skin temperature data; analyzing the sampled peripheral skin temperature data for a pre-selected parameter to determine whether the pre-selected parameter has a value indicative of ADHD; and determining the proper dosage of a medication to treat ADHD based upon the determined value of the pre-selected parameter. At a time subsequent to administering the dosage, it is determined if a previously administered dosage of a medication is effective at removing the effects of ADHD as measured by this pre-selected parameter.

An acoustooptic deflection cell diffracts a multi-color beam into a plurality of different mono-color beams of distinct scan angles. An optical system intercepts the diffracted light beams, equalizes the differenct scan angles and realigns the beams to register at an image plane. Equalization of the scan angles may be accomplished by a prism system, while realignment may be done with a mirror system.

A photographic optical system for substantially eliminating non-contact interference fringes in a photographic film comprises: (a) a source of polarized electromagnetic radiation, the radiation being characterized by a wavelength and an incident polarization angle; and (b) a photographic film capable of optical communication with the source and serving to transmit or reflect a portion of the radiation, the film comprising a silver halide emulsion layer on a birefringent support, the support being characterized by a thickness, an emulsion layer interface, an air interface, and birefringence that is dependent on the wavelength of the radiation; wherein the radiation wavelength and incident polarization angle and the support thickness and birefringence are selected such that radiation which penetrates the film and reflects from the air interface exits the support at the emulsion layer interface polarized at an angle substantially perpendicular to the incident polarization angle; whereby the photographic film may be imaged by the source of polarized electromagnetic radiation substantially without formation of non-contact interference fringes. In a process for eliminating non-contact interference fringes, a film that includes a support having a selected thickness and birefringence is exposed by polarized light characterized by a wavelength and an incident polarization angle. Photographic development processing of the exposed film produces an image substantially without fringes.

A planar array of microcells is formed in a support. An electrostatic charge pattern is established on the support differentiating first and second interlaid sets of microcells. An electrographic imaging composition is introduced into the first set of microcells, and a second, differing imaging composition is introduced into the second set of microcells. Multicolor photographic elements, particularly dye image transfer photographic elements, can be prepared.

In an electrostatic stylus recorder, a DC biased RF field is produced between the writing styli and the dielectric recording element. The DC bias prevents charged gas ions from bombarding and thereby abrading the dielectric recording element during electrical discharge between the styli and the recording element.

Acoustooptic apparatus for intensity modulating and angularly deflecting a beam of coherent light includes optical means for spreading the beam into a sheet having a cross-sectional shape with a major axis and a minor axis, acoustooptic cell means in the path of the sheet beam and electrical-to-mechanical transducers associated with the cell means for propagating variable amplitude acoustic waves across the beam in the direction of the beam's minor axis and for propagating variable frequency acoustic waves across the beam in the direction of the beam's major axis.
