摘要: The invention locates address indicia on digitized images of mail pieces by dividing the mail piece images into blocks; identifying rows of blocks that are adjacent along a first direction and that have similar defined image features by comparing such image features within adjacent blocks; assembling at least some of the identified rows of blocks that are adjacent along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction into address block candidate regions; and selecting the address block by scoring the various address block candidate regions on the basis of defined criteria. The criteria initially score the candidate regions based on closeness to the center of the rectangle and then reduce this initial score if an edge of the region is close to an edge of the image, the region contains a small or very high number of text rows, or the aspect ratio between the width and height of the region is high. This provides an Address Block Location (ABL) technique which is capable of being implemented for real time operation on presently available general purpose computers.

摘要: A method and system for monitoring a workstation. The system includes a monitoring system for monitoring activity on a workstation and an analysis module for comparing a monitored activity to specified activities in a work profile. The system may include an alert generator for generating an alert if the monitored activity does not conform to the work profile. The work profile may be a user profile of specified activities allowed to be performed by a user, and/or a transaction profile of a sequence of specified activities to be performed in a transaction by a user. The monitoring system includes an inputs monitor for monitoring inputs by the user into the workstation, a screen monitor which extracts content from a screen display viewed by a user, and a physical presence monitor to determine if a user is at his workstation.

摘要: A method of automatically performing a triple rule-out procedure using imaging data is provided. Imaging data is received that includes a heart region, a pulmonary artery region, an ascending aorta region, and a thoraco-abdominal aorta region of a patient. The heart region, an ascending aorta object, an abdominal aorta object, a left main pulmonary artery object, and a right main pulmonary artery object are identified from the imaging data. The identified heart region is analyzed to detect a coronary pathology. The identified ascending aorta object and the identified abdominal aorta object are analyzed to detect an aortic dissection. The identified left main pulmonary artery object and the identified right main pulmonary artery object are analyzed to detect a pulmonary embolism. A report is generated that includes any detected coronary pathology, any detected aortic dissection, and/or any detected pulmonary embolism.

摘要: A method for computerized processing of paper forms includes receiving an electronic image of a paper form containing text information from a client having a telephone. The text information is extracted from the form using an optical character recognition (OCR) process. A field of the extracted text information that is suspected of containing an error is identified, and a first text message is automatically communicated to the telephone asking the client to verify the identified field. A second text message is received in response to the first text message, and the text information in the field is validated or corrected according to the response.

摘要: Method, system, and computer program product are provided for processing an ultrasound image, in particular an image of inhomogeneous tissue. The method includes: segmenting tissue in a received ultrasound image; creating a mask of pixels centred on a pixel in a tissue area, wherein the pixels in the mask are within a given decibel range of the central pixel and within a segmentation boundary; and assigning an attenuation to the central pixel by estimating the attenuation of the pixels in the mask. The received ultrasound image may be a raw image the method may include creating an image of an attenuation mapping of attenuations for each pixel in a tissue area. Alternatively, the received ultrasound image may be a time gain compensated image the method may include determining areas of relatively high or low attenuation.

摘要: A method of defining a heart region from imaging data is provided. Received imaging data is projected into a first plane. A first threshold is applied to the first plane of data to eliminate data associated with air. A largest first connected component is identified from the first threshold applied data. A first center of mass of the identified largest first connected component is calculated to define a first coordinate and a second coordinate of the heart region. The received imaging data is projected into a second plane, wherein the second plane is perpendicular to the first plane. A second threshold is applied to the second plane of data to eliminate data associated with air. A largest second connected component is identified from the second threshold applied data. A second center of mass of the identified largest second connected component is calculated to define a third coordinate of the heart region.
