Said unit comprises a display surface (5) that can be sterilised, a protective housing (3) that can be sterilised and is mechanically connected to the display surface (5) and a recording unit (4) that can be inserted into the protective housing (3) and comprises a detection device (7), which is used to identify a modification in the position of an object relative to the display surface (5). The recording unit (4) is switched on by acoustic activation via a voice input, or alternatively by means of a proximity switch (14) when an object approaches the projection plate (5).
