摘要: A jaw assembly and a medical accelerator are provided. The jaw assembly includes: a jaw base, a moving assembly and at least one set of jaws, each set of jaws including at least two jaw bodies. The jaw base is detachably connected to a mounting seat of a treatment head beam shaping module of a medical accelerator, and when the jaw base is mounted on the mounting seat, a beam opening formed is located under the treatment head beam shaping module. The jaw body is connected to the jaw base through the moving assembly, and the moving assembly is configured to move the jaw body to between the beam opening and the treatment head beam shaping module, or to move the jaw body out between the beam opening and the treatment head beam shaping module to adjust a beam flow through the beam opening.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for planning and delivering radiation treatments by modalities which involve moving a radiation source along a trajectory relative to a subject while delivering radiation to the subject. In some embodiments the radiation source is moved continuously along the trajectory while in some embodiments the radiation source is moved intermittently. Some embodiments involve the optimization of the radiation delivery plan to meet various optimization goals while meeting a number of constraints. For each of a number of control points along a trajectory, a radiation delivery plan may comprise: a set of motion axes parameters, a set of beam shape parameters and a beam intensity.

摘要: Devices, systems and method that allow for delivery of therapeutic radiation beams of differing sizes or shapes during a radiation treatment are provided herein. Such devices can include a rotatable collimator body having multiple collimator channels of differing size or shape defined therein, the channels extending through the collimator body substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The collimator body can include markers thereon to facilitate detection of an alignment position by a sensor of a control system to allow the collimator body to be rapidly and accurately moved between alignment positions to facilitate delivery of differing therapy beams during a treatment.

摘要: Disclosed is a beam shaping assembly, including a beam inlet; a target, wherein the target has nuclear reaction with the incident proton beam; a moderator adjoining to the target, wherein the neutrons are moderated by the moderator to epithermal neutrons; a reflector surrounding the moderator, and leads the deflected neutrons back to the moderator to enhance the epithermal neutron beam intensity; and a cooling system, wherein the cooling system comprises a first cooling part for cooling target, a second cooling part and a third cooling part connecting with the first cooling part and extending in a direction parallel to the axis of the accelerating tube respectively, the first cooling part connects with the target in a face to face manner, the cooling medium is inputted into the first cooling part from the second cooling part and is outputted from first cooling part through the third cooling part.

摘要: In a radiation treatment plan that includes a plurality of treatment fields of multiple treatment modalities, such as IMRT modality and dynamic treatment path modality (e.g., VMAT and conformal arc therapy), an optimized spatial point sequence may be determined that optimizes the total treatment time, which includes both the beam-on time (i.e., during the delivery of radiation dose) and the beam-off time (i.e., during transitions between consecutive treatment fields). The result is a time-ordered field trajectory that intermixes and interleaves different treatment fields. In one embodiment, a dynamic treatment path may be cut into a plurality of sections, and one or more IMRT fields may be inserted between the plurality of sections.

摘要: The invention comprises a method for installing a proton based cancer therapy system in a hospital related brownfield building, comprising the steps of: (1) transporting gantry system elements to a basement of the brownfield, the gantry system comprising: a rotatable gantry support; a gantry counterweight; a rotatable gantry arm, and a main bearing, comprising: a diameter of at least ten feet, a first circular segment, comprising a first arc-to-chord section, a second circular segment, comprising a second arc-to-chord section, and an intermediate section; (2) transporting through a pre-existing elevator shaft in the hospital related brownfield building the main bearing in a disassembled form; and (3) after the step of transporting through the pre-existing elevator shaft, assembling the gantry system on the ground floor, the step of assembling comprising attaching the first circular segment of the main bearing to the second circular segment of the main bearing using the intermediate section.
