Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus. A method, performed by a primary terminal, of providing a communication service may include: identifying and accessing, by performing a discovery process, an Internet of Things (IoT) terminal operating as an access point, transmitting, to the IoT terminal, authentication information for performing a second embedded Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM) setup process following a first eSIM setup process while performing the first eSIM setup process on the IoT terminal, disconnecting first connection with the IoT terminal after terminating the first eSIM setup process, performing second connection with the IoT terminal based on the authentication information, in response to an access request from the IoT terminal and performing the second eSIM setup process as a subsequent procedure to the first eSIM setup process.

Operator specific services are permitted and provided by allowing an unauthorized terminal to search for and access the such services, and includes notifying a terminal of information corresponding to “operator specific services” by allowing a base station to broadcast predetermined information, displaying information acquired by a terminal, matching information acquired by the terminal with information broadcast from a base station to arrange services, requesting access and notifying a terminal performs an access for “operator specific services” upon accessing a network, providing a menu for determining whether neighboring base stations are capable of “operator specific services” to a user of a terminal, and allowing the terminal to determine whether there is the base station broadcasting the information.

A method by which a terminal receives a profile for a communication service in a wireless communication system according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving, from a query server by the terminal, first download information for receiving a second bootstrap profile by using a first bootstrap profile, which is one of a plurality of bootstrap profiles installed in the terminal; downloading the second bootstrap profile from a first profile server by using the first download information and installing the second bootstrap profile in the terminal; and installing a user profile in the terminal on the basis of the second bootstrap profile and user selection, and accessing a mobile network by using the user profile.
