Abstract: A communications device configured to receive data from a mobile communications network including one or more network elements providing a wireless access interface. The wireless access interface provides plural communications resource elements across a host frequency bandwidth, and includes, within the host frequency bandwidth, first communications resource elements within a first frequency bandwidth for allocation preferably to reduced capability devices to receive signals representing data transmitted by a transmitter within the first bandwidth forming a first virtual carrier, the reduced capability devices each having a receiver bandwidth greater than or equal to the first frequency bandwidth but less than the host frequency bandwidth. Communications devices of different capabilities can be allocated communications resources within different frequency ranges according to their capability, to relieve congestion on a center frequency of communications resources in which communications devices with a minimum bandwidth capability must receive communications resources for receiving down link signals.

Abstract: In an infrastructure equipment forming part of a mobile communications network, a controller is configured in combination with a receiver and transmitter to receive from one or more communications devices a channel state report for each of one or more predefined candidate channels within a frequency range, each of the candidate channels representing a minimum unit of communications resource usable to receive data on a downlink. The controller is configured to select, from the one or more candidate carriers, one or more component carriers for use in transmitting signals to the communications devices within the second frequency range to form a downlink providing a secondary cell, based on the received channel state reports, and to transmit an indication identifying the selected one or more component carriers to the one or more communications devices for use in transmitting signals to the one or more communications devices via the frequency range.

Abstract: A communications device can transmit and receive data via a wireless access interface provided by a mobile communications network including an infrastructure equipment for transmitting signals to or receiving signals from the communications device. The wireless access interface provides a primary carrier within a first frequency range, which forms a primary cell providing a contiguous set of communications resources across the first frequency range and providing one or more control channels for transmitting signaling message to the communications device or receiving signaling messages from the infrastructure equipment. A controller in combination with a receiver and transmitter can receive from the infrastructure equipment a signaling message identifying a nested carrier including one or more candidate channels selected from a predefined plurality of candidate channels within a second frequency range which is different to and mutually exclusive from the first frequency range.

Abstract: A mobile communications network includes one or more network elements providing a wireless access interface for communications devices. Each of the first and second frequency ranges is within the host frequency range, wherein the communications device is configured with a reduced capability to receive the signals only within a frequency bandwidth less than the host frequency range and equal to at least one of the first or second frequency range. The communications device is configured to receive the first signalling data from the control channel and the common system information from the one or more communications resources identified by the first signalling data.

Abstract: A communications device transmitting/receiving signals to/from a mobile communications network includes one or more network elements providing a wireless access interface for the communications device. Abstract: A communications system for device-to-device communications includes a group of plural communications devices, each configured to perform device-to-device communications via a wireless access interface with one or more other communications devices of the group. One of the communications devices is configured to detect interference in communications resources of the wireless access interface caused by signals transmitted by another communications device, and to provide, in response to detecting the interference, an indication of the interference to one or more of the communications device. By the communications device of the first group of communications devices detecting the interference and communicating an indication of the interference to the other members of the group, then members of the group can adapt the transmission and reception of data via the wireless access interface to avoid resources of the wireless access interface which is subject to interference.
