    Abstract: A display device includes: a display unit including pixels; a touch sensing unit disposed on the display unit and including touch electrodes; a fingerprint sensing unit including fingerprint sensors; a touch driver configured to drive the touch sensing unit to sense a touch of a touch input member; a fingerprint sensor driver configured to drive the fingerprint sensors to sense a fingerprint of a user in a first mode and to drive the fingerprint sensing unit in synchronization with the touch driver to sense a touch of the user in a second mode; and a main processor configured to perform a task based on sensing information of the fingerprint of the user received from the fingerprint sensor driver in the first mode and to perform a task based on sensing information of the touch input member and sensing information of the touch of the user in the second mode.

    Abstract: A display device according to some embodiments includes a display panel including a sensing area, touch electrodes in the sensing area, a fingerprint sensor overlapping at least a portion of the touch electrodes, and a sensor driver configured to drive the touch electrodes and the fingerprint sensor, wherein the sensor driver drives the touch electrodes in a first sensing mode or a second sensing mode depending on whether a foreign substance exists in a touch inputted to the sensing area, and drives the fingerprint sensor in a fingerprint sensing mode or a touch sensing mode.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel for displaying an image, a touch sensor operating in one of a normal sensing mode in which a surface touch is recognized and a proximity sensing mode in which a hovering touch is recognized, and a touch driver for supplying a touch driving signal including a plurality of driving pulses to the touch sensor during a sensing period, and receiving a touch sensing signal from the touch sensor. In the proximity sensing mode, the touch driver sets a noise period including a first noise period and a second noise period in the sensing period, and decreases a number of times the driving pulses are supplied during the second noise period when it is determined that a variation of the image is greater than a predetermined reference variation.

    Abstract: A method for driving a display device is performed by the display device. The method includes: displaying a first image including user convenience information through a display panel; generating sensing data corresponding to a fingerprint sensing area by using a photoelectric sensor; and determining whether a sensed fingerprint corresponding to the sensing data is a fake fingerprint by comparing expected sensing light illuminance information based on the first image with sensed light illuminance information of the sensing data. The first image includes a first color pattern in the fingerprint sensing area of the display panel. A fake-determination image pattern includes the first color pattern and a second color pattern different from the first color pattern.
