    Abstract: An organic light emitting display device includes a display panel, a display panel driver, and a power supply. The display panel includes pixels. Each of the pixels includes an organic light emitting diode configured to emit light in an emission period based on a first power supply voltage and a second power supply voltage. The display panel driver is configured to apply a scan signal, an emission control signal, and a data signal to the pixels. The power supply is configured to: generate the first power supply voltage, the second power supply voltage, and a third power supply voltage applied to the pixels in a non-emission period; and adjust a voltage level of the second power supply voltage and a voltage level of the third power supply voltage based on an ambient temperature and a brightness of the display panel.

    Abstract: A display device includes a light emitting element, a timing controller, and an initialization power generator. The timing controller determines whether a second image associated with a second frame is different from a first image associated with a first frame. The second frame immediately follows the first frame. The initialization power generator is electrically connected to the timing controller, provides a reference voltage for initializing the light emitting element in the second frame when/if the second image is identical to the first image, and provides a first adjusted voltage unequal to the reference voltage for initializing the light emitting element in the second frame when/if the second image is different from the first image.

    Abstract: Provided is an optical compensation method for a display device including a pixel coupled between first power and second power sources. In the optical compensation method, the first voltage level of the second power source corresponding to a first luminance level is set while measuring the luminance of the display device, the second voltage level of the second power source corresponding to a second luminance level is set while measuring the luminance of the display device, the third voltage levels of the second power source for representative luminance levels including the first and second luminance levels are set based on the first and second voltage levels, and the fourth voltage levels of the second power source for the representative luminance levels according to temperature conditions are set based on the third voltage levels and temperature offsets according to the temperature conditions, under which the display device is driven.

    Abstract: A display device may include a display panel, a data driver transmitting a data signal, a scan driver sequentially transmitting a scan signal, a frequency selector for selecting a driving frequency for image display, selecting a low frequency if the image displayed on the display panel is a first image and selecting a normal frequency if the image displayed on the display panel is not the first image, the normal frequency being higher than the low frequency. The display device also includes a timing controller for controlling the data driver and the scan driver based on the selected driving frequency. The timing controller may control the data driver and the scan driver such that luminance of the display panel on which the first image is displayed is periodically changed according to the low frequency if the image displayed on the display panel is the first image.

    Abstract: A luminance control unit includes: a driving power voltage setting unit configured to determine a driving power voltage to be provided to a display panel, the driving power voltage corresponding to a target brightness, based on a plurality of driving power voltages respectively corresponding to a plurality of reference brightnesses of the display panel; and a gamma voltage setting unit configured to determine a target luminance corresponding to the target brightness, based on a plurality of target luminances respectively corresponding to the plurality of reference brightnesses, and to set gamma voltages for implementing the target luminance, wherein the driving power voltage and the gamma voltages are differently set with respect to the same reference brightness according to an ambient illumination intensity of the display panel.
