Abstract: Provided is a display apparatus including an image forming optical system configured to form an image to be displayed, an eyepiece optical system configured to provide the image formed by the image forming optical system to a pupil of an observer, and an image shifting optical system disposed on an optical path between the image forming optical system and the eyepiece optical system, the image shifting optical system being configured to shift the image formed by the image forming optical system in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis, wherein the image shifting optical system includes a first optical member having a first focal length and a second optical member having a second focal length, and wherein a distance between the first optical member and the second optical member along the optical axis is equal to a sum of the first focal length and the second focal length.

Abstract: A driving device includes a first driving element and a first flexible structure. The first driving element includes a first wire extending in a first direction and includes a shape memory alloy. The first flexible structure has a certain width in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and when the first wire contracts in the first direction, the first flexible structure has a height increasing in a third direction perpendicular to both the first direction and the second direction. The driving device further includes a second driving element including a second wire and a second flexible structure, the second wire extending in the first direction and including a shape memory alloy. The second flexible structure has a certain width in the second direction, and when the second wire contracts in the first direction, the second flexible structure has a height increasing in the third direction.

Abstract: A see-through display apparatus includes a display device, and an optical coupler configured to obtain a combined image by combining a first image from the display device with a second image from a path different from a path of the first image, and emit the obtained combined image. The optical coupler includes a first surface on which the first image is incident, a second surface on which the second image is incident, and an exit surface through which the combined image is emitted. A noise reduction prism is disposed between the display device and the optical coupler, and includes inclined surfaces configured to perform path conversion so that, among light of the first image, effective light of a predetermined angle range is incident on the optical coupler and noise light of a remaining angle range remaining from the predetermined angle range is not incident on the optical coupler.

Abstract: A method of correcting optical characteristics of a back light unit (BLU) for a three-dimensional (3D) display apparatus includes: obtaining first optical characteristics of a reference image; obtaining a corrected image by applying an initial correction value, which is determined based on the first optical characteristics, to the reference image; obtaining second optical characteristics of the corrected image; determining whether the second optical characteristics match reference optical characteristics; outputting the corrected image based on determining that the second optical characteristics match the reference optical characteristics, and obtaining a new corrected image and repeating, for the new corrected image, the obtaining the second optical characteristics and the determining whether the second optical characteristics match the reference optical characteristics, based on determining that the second optical characteristics of the corrected image do not match the reference optical characteristics.
