    Abstract: An operating method of a terminal configured to communicate with at least one of a plurality of cells includes generating first cell search training data for the plurality of cells, determining at least one training candidate cell based on the first cell search training data, updating a classification based on second cell search training data among the first cell search training data and network information about the terminal to obtain an updated classification, the second cell search training data corresponding to the at least one training candidate cell, and determining a valid cell among the plurality of cells based on the updated classification.

    Abstract: Provided is a method of operating a wireless communication device including a phased array including a first antenna group and a second antenna group to form a beam for transmitting and receiving signals polarized in different directions, which includes receiving first signals polarized in a first direction; receiving second signals polarized in a second direction; measuring power of the first signals and power of the second signals; analyzing a relationship between a channel corresponding to the first receiving beam and a channel corresponding to the second receiving beam; estimating power of third signals that are expected to be received through the first antenna group and power of fourth signals that are expected to be received through the second antenna group; and selecting a receiving beam pattern for wireless communication.

    Abstract: A wireless communication device including processing circuitry configured to generate first synchronization signal measurement values by combining sets of correlation values, the sets of correlation values being based on a reception signal, and each of the sets of correlation values having a number of correlation values equal to a first accumulation count, determine whether a valid synchronization signal measurement value is detected among the first synchronization signal measurement values based on a criterion, determine a frequency corresponding to the first valid synchronization signal measurement value as a synchronization frequency in response to determining the valid synchronization signal measurement value is detected, determine a second accumulation count in response to determining the valid synchronization signal measurement value is not detected, generate second synchronization signal measurement values based on the second accumulation count, and perform an initial access operation for synchronization with a base station using the synchronization frequency.

    Abstract: A mode switching method and apparatus of a terminal including a camera for acquiring motion information of a user and a plurality of operation modes for power management is provided. The mode switching method includes transitioning, when a motion of a first pattern is detected by the camera, the terminal from an active mode to a standby mode, transitioning, when a motion of a second pattern is detected by the camera, the terminal from the standby mode to an inactive mode, and transitioning, when a first mode switching input is detected in the inactive mode, from the inactive mode to the active mode, wherein the camera acquires the motion information of the user in at least one of the active mode and the standby mode.
