According to various embodiments, a transmission device in a wireless environment may include a transceiver, and a processor operatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor may be configured to generate a codeword related to transmission data, generate symbols from the codeword by using a plurality of transmission symbol vectors determined using a linear combination of vectors corresponding to respective rows of a lattice generation matrix, and transmit a signal generated based on the symbols via the transceiver.

To support multiple access, a method for operating a terminal is provided. The method includes sending at least one first reference signal over a first resource which supports orthogonal multiple access with at least one other terminal, sending at least one second reference signal over a second resource which supports non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) with the at least one other terminal, and sending a data signal according to the NOMA with the at least one other terminal.

Abstract: A 5th generation (5G) or pre-5G communication system supporting higher data rate after a 4th generation (4G) communication system such as a long-term evolution (LTE) is disclosed. The system includes a scalable frame structure to integrally support various services in a cellular wireless communication system, and provides a transmission/reception method to which the corresponding frame structure is applied, so that the system performance is improved through minimizing of inter-symbol interference between the 5G system and the LTE system or between the 5G systems. The scalable frame structure adjusts a cyclic prefix (CP) length by giving a specific pattern thereto when subcarrier spacing is extended, while maintaining a CP overhead in the same manner based on the frame structure based on a specific subcarrier spacing, thereby maintaining the 2m-times relationship between a symbol length, CP length, slot length, and subframe length.

Abstract: A filtering-based signal transmission method is provided. The method includes a transmitter performing carrier modulation on each signal from at least one sub-band, and adding a cyclic prefix and a cyclic postfix thereto, respectively, performing time-domain filtering on the signal, added with the cyclic prefix and the cyclic postfix, from the respective sub-band, and transmitting the filtered signal from the at least one sub-band. The present disclosure further provides a filtering-based signal receiving method. The filtering-based signal receiving method includes performing, by a receiver, time-domain matched filtering, corresponding to at least one sub-band, on each received signal, removing, by the receiver, a cyclic prefix and a cyclic postfix from the filtered signal from the at least one sub-band, and performing carrier demodulation, respectively, and detecting and estimating, by the receiver, the demodulated signal from the at least one sub-band.

The modified Fourier transform applies to each of the modulation symbols an amount of phase change that is shifted from an amount of reference phase change by a phase offset.
