Further, a gear (76) of a motor gear portion (46) is removably connected to a worm gear (34) in a clutch gear portion (28), and a mounting stay (84) is detachably attached to a case (30) with screws (86), so that the motor (44) and the motor gear portion (46) can be detached independently of the case (30) while still being assembled together. Still further, a pretensioner mechanism (156) and a sensor mechanism (182) are provided at one end side of a spool (118), and an urging mechanism (136) is disposed at the other end side thereof.

    摘要: A structure for mounting a bracket for a horn pad on a metal core of a steering wheel has a simplified construction. Further, the number of upper contacts is reduced by controlling a movement of the horn pad. The mounting structure and arrangement result in a low cost of production. Generally, the mounting structure includes a plurality of leg parts formed on the metal core of the steering wheel. The leg parts extend generally parallel to a steering shaft. A cross bar is formed on a tip of each leg part. The horn pad's bracket is disposed between the metal core and the cross bars. Biasing devices, for biasing the bracket towards the cross bars are installed between the bracket and the metal core. Positioning devices, for positioning the bracket relative to an axis of the steering shaft are provided on the cross bars and the bracket. The biasing devices are installed at two locations on a lower side of the pad, and at two locations on an upper side of the pad. Upper horn switch contacts are installed at the middle part on the lower side of the pad, and at the right and left parts of the upper side of the pad.

    摘要: A steering wheel has a substantially T-shaped groove, which is positioned on the side opposite to the side facing the driver, in a core portion provided at the center of the steering wheel. When a load is applied to the lowest portion of a steering wheel rim, bending moments are exerted on the steering wheel about the boss portion and deform the steering wheel about a line parallel to a line connecting two points where two lower spoke members on the core portion are secured to the steering wheel rim. The steering wheel simultaneously creates the predetermined magnitude of deformation due to the deformation of a top portion of the T-shaped groove which is bent in response to the intensive stress. When further load is applied to the steering wheel, angular moments are generated with the distal ends of the spoke members serving as bending portions about the line perpendicular to a line connecting two points where two lower spoke members in the core portion are secured to the steering wheel rim. At this time, the predetermined magnitude of deformation of the steering wheel can be maintained due to deformation of a leg portion of the T-shaped groove which is bent in response to the intensive stress.

    摘要: A steering wheel which strengthens and simplifies a structure supporting a pad, to which an air bag apparatus is attached, at a cored bar. A cored bar is integrally formed with a bridge (engaging piece) formed by leg portions, which stand upright from spokes or the like, and a crossbar (pressing portion), which is bent and formed from the leg portions. A bracket for a pad, to which an air bag apparatus is attached, is mounted at the space between the boss portion of the cored bar and the crossbar. When the air bag apparatus is operated, impact force applied in a vehicle operator's direction is supported by the bridge (engaging piece) via the bracket.
