摘要: A method for dynamically securing an occupant strapped into a vehicle seat with a seat belt involves determining a lateral acceleration of the vehicle and a road course ahead of the vehicle. A lateral acceleration to be expected in the course of a bend ahead of the vehicle is predicted based on image data of a vehicle environment acquired by means of at least one camera on the vehicle and/or on the basis of acquired data of a navigation map. In the event that the predicted lateral acceleration exceeds a situation-dependent predetermined trigger threshold for tightening the seat belt, a belt force acting on the seat belt is increased before the lateral acceleration acts on the occupant.

摘要: A driving control device is configured to control driving of occupant protection devices to be mounted on a vehicle. The driving control device includes a detection result acquisition unit, a collision form estimation unit, and a device selection unit. The detection result acquisition unit acquires a detection result of an object ahead of the vehicle before collision. The collision form estimation unit estimates a form of collision that may occur with the object based on the detection result. When a collision between the vehicle and the object is detected, the device selection unit selects which of the occupant protection devices should be driven based on the collision form estimated by the collision form estimation unit.

摘要: An airbag apparatus to be applied to a vehicle includes an airbag configured to be deployed forward of a vehicle body front of the vehicle, a collision determiner configured to establish a pre-crash determination in a case where a collision probability with a human body or an object other than a human body is equal to or higher than a predetermined threshold, and an airbag deployment controller configured to deploy the airbag in response to the pre-crash determination. The airbag includes a slit portion formed by recessing a front surface rearward of the vehicle, and branches divided by the slit portion. The airbag apparatus further includes a coupling member configured to couple the branches to each other, and a coupling member disabling unit configured to break coupling of the branches by the coupling member in a case where a collision with the human body is predicted.

摘要: A vehicular safety feature control system includes a camera disposed at a vehicle that views exterior of the equipped vehicle. The vehicular safety feature control system includes an electronic control unit (ECU) for processing image data captured by the camera to detect presence of objects. The ECU, responsive to processing of image data captured by the camera, detects an object on a collision course with the equipped vehicle. The ECU, responsive to detecting the object on the collision course with the equipped vehicle, classifies the detected object. The ECU estimates a mass of the detected object based on the classification. The ECU estimates a kinetic energy of a potential collision and, based on the estimated kinetic energy of the potential collision, estimates a severity of the potential collision. The ECU controls a safety feature of the equipped vehicle based on the estimated severity of the potential collision.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a crash monitoring system for a vehicle, a vehicle comprising such a crash monitoring system, a method for monitoring a vehicle crash and a computer program element for such a crash monitoring system. The crash monitoring system comprises an environment sensor unit, a vehicle information supplying unit, a crash sensor unit and a control unit. The environment sensor unit is configured to generate field data of an impending crash event between at least a first vehicle and an obstacle. The vehicle information supplying unit is configured to provide operational information of at least the first vehicle to the control unit. The crash sensor unit is configured to generate crash data during the crash event of at least the first vehicle. The control unit is configured to execute a crash simulation based on the field data and the operational information and generate predictive attribute data. The control unit is further configured to generate fused data by fusing the predictive attribute data and the crash data of the ongoing crash event for adapting the predictive attribute data to future crash events.

An airbag extension system may position an airbag package, including the vehicle's airbag, such that the vehicle's airbag is within the protection range of the passenger's seating location.
