摘要： A memory management control device and a memory management control method capable of preventing run away of an image processing apparatus caused by a rewrite to a memory, are provided. In rewriting a program stored in a flash memory 402 of a controller 400 included in an image processing apparatus, an operating state detector 500 detects the operating state of the image processing apparatus and transmits the detection result to an external apparatus 9. On the basis of this detected operating state, the external apparatus 9 performs rewrite control for the flash memory 402. If the image processing apparatus is in operation, or is in an intermediate state, an abnormal state, or a wait state, a rewrite action is executed after the state is canceled.

The sorter is detachably mountable to the image forming unit, and has a first control unit for allowing image formation of a second group by interrupting image formation of a first group upon reception of an interrupt instruction to perform image formation of images of the second group while image formation of images of the first group is suspended, and for resuming image formation of the first group after the image formation of the second group has been completed, and a second control unit for changing units to accommodate sheets in the sorter so as to accommodate sheets on which images of the first group have been formed and sheets on which images of the second group have been formed in different accommodating units in accordance with the instruction of the interrupt, a detector for detecting the mounting or detaching of the sorter, and a prohibition unit for prohibiting interrupt of image formation of the second group during image formation of the first group when the detector detects the detaching of the sorter.

摘要： An image formation apparatus comprises an image formation device for forming an image on a recording material according to image information light obtained from light emitted from a light source. A detector detects the light intensity emitted from the light source. A single cooling fan is provided for cooling both the light source and the image formation device. The drive force of the cooling fan is set at either a first value or a second value. The driving force is set at the first value during a time period from a start of energization of the light source until the light intensity detected by the detector is at least the predetermined value. The driving force is set at the second value after the detected light intensity is at least the predetermined value. The first value of the driving force is less than that of the second value.
