摘要： A method of transmitting and receiving MBMS service availability information. To support the mobility of UEs receiving an MBMS service, an RNC transmits, to each of a plurality of cells under its control, an MBMS service availability message including service availability information and resource availability information regarding at least one MBMS service available in the cell. From the MBMS service availability message, a UE determines if a desired MBMS service can be received in a current cell currently or in the future. The UE requests the desired MBMS service or selects another cell capable of providing the MBMS service.

摘要： A method and an apparatus are disclosed for applying frequency layer convergence (FLC) to connected mode user equipments (UE) having no dedicated channel for a multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) service in a mobile communication system employing a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) scheme. The method and apparatus prevent uplink signaling congestion which may occur when the UEs located in non preferred frequency layers (NPL) of the MBMS service move to a preferred frequency layers (PL) when a MBMS service session starts. If the MBMS service session starts in a situation of applying the FLC, a radio network controller (RNC) notifies the UEs desiring to receive the MBMS service and located in NPLs for the MBMS service of FLC information including a PF value and a timer value, with reference to the number of the NPL UEs joining the MBMS service. The UEs performs a PF test according to the PF and timer values, thereby maintaining the degree of congestion and signal transmission load at appropriate levels.

When a session of the MBMS service is terminated, a radio network controller (RNC) determines if a cell selection is required in UEs, desiring to receive the MBMS service located in the PL cell, by using a start time of a new session and load levels of a current cell and other cells, and sends, to the UEs, explicit cell selection indication information along with session stop information according to a determination result. Therefore, the congestion and signal transfer load of the cell can be maintained in the suitable level.

摘要： A method and apparatus are provided for reducing excessive retransmission delays which may occur due to the loss of the last packet of a transmission buffer in a Radio Link Control (RLC) layer of a mobile communication system. The method includes receiving a Service Data Unit (SDU) from a higher layer, dividing the SDU into a plurality of Packet Data Units (PDUs), and storing the PDUs in a buffer, setting a poll bit for a last PDU from among the PDUs stored in the buffer, the poll bit requesting a status report, and repeatedly transmitting the last PDU having the setup poll bit at least twice from a sender to a receiver, regardless of whether there is a request for retransmission of the last PDU.

摘要： A method of informing a selected CN operator from a UE to a RAN in an NS system where a plurality of CN operators shares the RAN is provided. Upon request of transmission of an IDT, the UE acquires a CN operator ID selected from a multi-ID list broadcasted from a cell in which an RRC connection has been established, and transmits an IDT message with the selected CN operator ID to the RAN. Upon receipt of the IDT message, the RAN determines whether the IDT message includes a selected CN operator ID. In the presence of the selected CN operator ID, the RAN stores the selected CN operator ID in a UE context. In the absence of the selected CN operator ID, the RAN reads a stored selected CN operator ID from the UE context. The RAN then selects a CN operator using the selected CN operator ID.

摘要： A method for selecting a cell by a user equipment (UE) to receive a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) service in a mobile communication system which supports the MBMS service with different frequency allocations (FAs) in the same area. In the method, a radio network controller (RNC) transmits information on an MBMS cell to the UE, and the MBMS cell information includes an MBMS offset for guaranteeing priority for cell reselection to the MBMS cell. The UE performs cell reselection using the MBMS cell information and receives the MBMS service from the reselected cell.
