Abstract: Nanomaterials are an important class of materials for sunscreens. Conventional metal oxide nanoparticles are toxic in nature and leave white patches on skin after application. This disclosure provides a sunscreen composition containing biodegradable antimicrobial polymer nanoparticles as UV filter. The sunscreen composition comprising chitosan nanoparticles, at least one flavoring agent, at least one coloring agent, at least one stabilizer, and at least one preservative, in a defined form, wherein size of the chitosan nanoparticles is ranging from 200 to 900 nm. The size of the chitosan nanoparticles ranging from 200 to 400 nm for air medium, 500 to 700 nm for water medium and 700 to 900 nm for ethanol medium. The chitosan polymer is derived from chitin, a glucosamine polymer. The sunscreen composition is available in the defined form selected from a group consisting of a skin cream, a skin lotion, a powder, a gel, and a sprayable liquid.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to application based design of novel materials. Conventional methods utilize laborious experimentation or costly first principles calculations. Conventional data driven techniques use point cloud-based representation for crystal structures, that suffers from permutation variance which is not inbuilt in a material's representation, the DL model has to learn invariance which may be inaccurate. Other methods use image based representation for crystal structures and separate images for each element type to represent the basis, which is memory and time intensive. Since each element is represented by its own image, it is difficult for model to learn chemical environment and neighborhood pattern of each element. The embodiments used image based representation of materials consistent with physical principles. Also, embodiments utilize elements matrix to obtain atoms and their positions from basis images. Thus, any material, irrespective of lattice geometry, and number and types of elements, is represented by only two images.

Abstract: Health of perishable commodities such as eatables deteriorate over time. State of art systems for health monitoring of perishable commodities rely on measurement of limited parameters and also fail to consider effect of environment on the health of the perishable commodities. Disclosed herein is an apparatus and method for multimodal sensing and monitoring of perishable commodities. The apparatus allows to change environment within a closed chamber in which the perishable commodity being monitored is kept, and in turn allows to generate health data in different environment settings. This data is used to generate a health model. Data collected in real-time are processed with the health model to establish a correlation with at least one image, wherein each of such images in the health model represents certain health state. Based on the established correlation, health of the perishable commodity is determined.

Abstract: A method for synthesis of nanoparticles are described. The method includes dispersing metal oxide powder in a mixture of a base liquid and a surfactant to form a primary mixture, grinding the primary mixture using a grinding media by periodically adding a surfactant solution to form a slurry, extracting a predetermined amount of sample from the slurry at periodic time intervals to obtain a testing solution to assess particle size of in the slurry using a particle size analyzer; and systematically adding the surfactant solution and the grinding media to the slurry based on the assessed particle size in the testing solution until a mean particle size of the nanoparticles is achieved.

Abstract: A method and system for in-silico testing of actives on human skin is described. The present invention discloses a micro and macroscopic level model of the skins upper protective layer Stratum-Corneum. The invention presents a multi-scale modeling framework for the calculation of diffusion and release profile of different actives like drugs, particles and cosmetics through developed skin model using molecular dynamics simulations and computational fluid dynamics approach. The systems consist of a molecular model of the skin's upper layer stratum corneum and permeate molecules. The system also consists of a macroscopic transport model of stratum corneum. The transport model is used to generate the release profile of the active molecule.

Abstract: Non-Pneumatic Tire (NPT) has been widely used due to their various advantages. Existing solutions/approaches provide limited flexibility on the overall tire performance and have less stiffness and poor damage performance. Embodiments of the present disclosure provides systems and methods that generate optimized spoke design for non-pneumatic tires. More specifically, the system of the present disclosure can generate optimized topology with customized property/performance outcomes for NPTs. The variety of spoke designs have been created using a computer generative method. The performance of these generative spoke designs has been investigated using a finite element method (FEM) technique, wherein output of the FEM technique is used for training machine learning model(s) that enable selection of optimal spoke design for tire manufacturing.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to method to determine an optimal set of atom centered symmetry functions. One or more parameters associated with one or more atom centered symmetry functions (ACSFs) are received. An initial set of ACSFs is generated by varying the one or more parameters. A histogram with a prespecified bin size is constructed to obtain a distribution of value of each of the initial set of ACSFs. A pruned list of ACSFs is obtained based on width and maximum value of the distribution of the value of initial set of ACSFs. The pruned list of ACSFs is sorted in decreasing order of spread to obtain a sorted list of ACSFs. An optimal set of one or more shortlisted ACSFs is determined by traversing through the sorted list of ACSFs. A high dimensional neural network potential is trained based on the optimal set of one or more shortlisted ACSFs.

Abstract: State of the art food quality measurement techniques fail to determine quality of the food item once it is packed and sealed in a container. The disclosure herein generally relates to food quality prediction, and, more particularly, to a system and method for predicting food quality in a non-invasive manner. A Color Changing Indicator (CCI) in a biosensor strip forming a component of the enclosed package in which the liquid food item is packed, changes color when came in contact with the liquid food item. For different quality of the liquid food item the CCI has different color. Based on the color of the CCI, and ambient temperature and relative humidity at the time the color of the CCI is determined, a machine learning model determines rate of deterioration of the liquid food item, and then predicts remaining shelf life, which in turn provided as output to a user.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to detection of concentration of micro and nano particles in a fluid environment. An acoustic transmitter array is selective coated with polymer and receiver array is deployed at a random location in a conduit. The acoustic transmitter array on the conduit is insonified at a predetermined frequency to obtain a plurality of reflected signals. A plurality of key features pertinent to the conduit are extracted from the plurality of reflected signals to obtain a plurality of acoustic signals. A correlation model is configured by inputting, at least one feature associated with the pre-processed acoustic signals. A known concentrations of nano and micro particles are trained with an artificial neural network algorithm and calibrated with ground truth data. The location of the transmitter array and receiver array and the correlation model are finalized for detecting concentration of the particular micro and nano particles in the fluid environment.
