    Abstract: Receptacle assembly includes a receptacle cage and a thermal-transfer module that is coupled to a thermal side of the receptacle cage. The thermal-transfer module has a base portion and a plurality of heat-transfer fins coupled to the base portion. The thermal-transfer module is configured to absorb thermal energy from a pluggable transceiver in the receptacle cage and transfer the thermal energy through the base portion and to the heat-transfer fins. The receptacle assembly also includes a retention clip configured to hold the thermal-transfer module to the receptacle cage. The retention clip includes a resilient beam that extends across the thermal-transfer module. The resilient beam directly engages at least some of the heat-transfer fins and applies a resilient force against the heat-transfer fins.

    Abstract: An electrical cable splice includes a housing having a channel configured to hold a first signal conductor of a first electrical cable therein. The channel is configured to hold a second signal conductor of a second electrical cable therein in electrical engagement with the first signal conductor such that the first and second signal conductors are electrically interconnected. The second electrical cable has a greater diameter than the first electrical cable. A ground shield external to the housing such that the ground shield extends at least partially around the first and second signal conductors. The ground shield is electrically connected to electrical ground conductors of the first and second electrical cables.

    Abstract: A receptacle cage includes cage walls extending between a front end and a rear end including a top wall and side walls forming a module channel receiving a pluggable module. The receptacle cage includes a gasket at the front end having EMI springs electrically connected to the cage walls. Each EMI spring has a deflectable portion between a base and a distal end. The distal end is split with a first end beam and a second end beam at the distal end separated by a gap. The deflectable portion is spaced apart from the cage wall and is deflectable toward the cage wall. Each EMI spring has first and second side edges between the base and the distal end. The EMI springs are arranged side-by-side without gaps between adjacent EMI springs.

    Abstract: A dual heat transfer assembly includes upper and lower heat transfer elements received in a separator channel of a port separator of a receptacle cage. The upper heat transfer element includes an upper thermal interface extending into an upper module channel to interface with an upper pluggable module. The lower heat transfer element includes a lower thermal interface extending into a lower module channel of the receptacle cage to interface with a lower pluggable module. The heat transfer elements include inner ends located in the separator channel. The heat transfer elements include biasing members engaging the heat transfer elements and biasing the heat transfer elements into thermal engagement with the pluggable modules.
