Abstract: The invention relates to a method for attaching security features (8) to an adhesive tape (1), by introducing the security features (8) into a transfer layer (7) and applying the transfer layer (7) to a carrier film (6) to form a transfer tape (9) and pressing an outer side of the transfer layer (7) onto an end face (5) of a roll (4) of the adhesive tape (1) and adhering the transfer layer (7) on the roll end face (5) and peeling the carrier film (6) from the transfer layer (7), with the transfer layer (7) parting from the carrier film (6) and, with it, the security features (8) remaining on a side edge (11) of the adhesive tape (1).
