Abstract: A process of forming a cross-linked electronically active hydrophilic co-polymer is provided and includes the steps of: a. mixing an intrinsically electronically active material with water to form an intermediate mixture; b. adding at least one hydrophilic monomer, at least one hydrophobic monomer, and at least one cross-linker to the intermediate mixture to form a co-monomer mixture; and c. polymerising the co-monomer mixture.

Abstract: A resin composition including at least one of a monofunctional (meth)acrylate having an imide ring structure or a monomer having a 2-pyrrolidone skeleton and a radical curable group in an amount of about 0.1 weight percent to about 5 weight percent based on the total weight of the resin composition, wherein the resin composition has a viscosity of about 5 millipascal seconds to less than about 50 millipascal seconds at 25° C., and wherein a glass transition temperature of the resin composition after being cured satisfies a value of about −50° C. to less than about 0°C.

Abstract: A resin composition may include a (meth)acrylate (A) comprising a hydroxy group and having a molecular weight of about 500 or less, and a polymer (B) comprising polyisoprene or polybutadiene as a main skeleton, having at least one radical reactive group in one molecule, and having a molecular weight in a range of about 2,000 to about 35,000, wherein the resin composition has a glass transition temperature in a range of about −50° C. to about 0° C. after the resin composition is cured, and the resin composition has a viscosity in a range of about 5 mPa·s to about 50 mPa·s at a temperature in a range of about 30° C. to about 50° C.

Abstract: The composition includes a blend of monomers containing at least one of a cyclic imide-containing acrylate or a cyclic amide-containing methacrylate and an organoborane complex. The composition may be packaged as a two-part composition, wherein a first part comprises the blend of monomers, and wherein a second part comprises the organoborane complex. Articles are bonded with the composition, which is at least partially cured. Methods of making a bonded article are also disclosed. Bonded articles can include at least one low-surface-energy plastic.

Abstract: Methods for forming melt processable, actinic radiation polymerizable and crosslinkable adhesives are described. In certain versions, the adhesives or pre-adhesive compositions include two initiators and are polymerized and/or crosslinked by exposure to actinic radiation such as UV light or electron beam radiation. Also described are pre-adhesive compositions including polymerizable monomers, articles including the adhesives, and various methods and systems related to the adhesives and their application. In addition, various apparatuses are described for polymerizing or crosslinking the compositions.

Abstract: Fiber-containing composites are described that include woven or non-woven fibers, and a binder that holds the fibers together. The binder may include the reaction product of a starch and a polycarboxylic acid. The starch has a weight average molecular weight that ranges from 1×106 Daltons to 10×106 Daltons. The fiber-containing composite has an unaged tensile strength of greater than 4.0 and an aged tensile strength greater than 3.0. Also described are methods of making the fiber-containing composites. The methods may include applying a binder composition to fibers to form coated fibers, measuring a moisture content of the coated fibers, and curing the coated fibers in a curing oven to form the fiber-containing composite. The binder composition may include a starch having a weight average molecular weight that ranges from 1×106 Daltons to 10×106 Daltons, and a polycarboxylic acid.

Abstract: The present invention relates to two-part cyanoacrylate adhesive comprising a) a first part comprising a cyanoacrylate component; a peroxide catalyst; a stabilizer and a thickener; and b) a second part comprising a (meth)acrylate component; a graphene oxide; an adhesion promoter; a metal salt; and a fumed silica. Adhesive according to the present invention provides good performance as structural adhesive, good adhesion strength, good open and fix times, good tensile lap shear strength and good peel strength.

The acrylic composition also includes a polyfunctional acrylate having two or more radically polymerizable functional groups, a first photoinitiator, and a second photoinitiator, wherein the first photoinitiator is an acetophenone-based photoinitiator, and the second photoinitiator is a phosphine oxide-based photoinitiator.

Abstract: Provided is a thermoplastic resin composition or an adhesive coating material capable of adhering a cyclic polyolefin-based polymer with a metal or metal compound such as aluminum foil or an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer with sufficient strength. The thermoplastic resin composition contains (A) 100 parts by mass of thermoplastic resin; (B) 0.05 to 5 parts by mass of one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and an unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative; and (C) 0.01 to 3 parts by mass of organic peroxide; which component (A) contains (a1) 10 to 90% by mass cyclic polyolefin-based polymer; and (a2) 90 to 10% by mass a hydrogenated product of a block copolymer comprising a polymer block composed mainly of an aromatic vinyl compound and a random copolymer block of a conjugated diene compound and an aromatic vinyl compound (with the proviso that the total of the component (a1) and the component (a2) is 100% by mass).

The ink-jet adhesive according to the present invention contains a photocurable compound having a (meth) acryloyl group or a vinyl group and having no cyclic ether group, and a photopolymerization initiator, contains or does not contain a thermosetting compound having no (meth) acryloyl group and having a cyclic ether group, and a content of the thermosetting compound is 5 wt % or less when the ink-jet adhesive contains the thermosetting compound.
