摘要: A data migration management apparatus continuously monitors and stores the utilization statuses of a migration-source storage area and a migration-destination storage area, and uses the information to set up a data migration. An information management unit collects information related to the storage configuration and information related to performance from respective storage apparatuses, and stores the information in a storage unit. In a case where a data migration plan is to be set, a performance information provision unit provides, to a user computer, variations in the utilization statuses during a predetermined period for each of a migration-source volume and a migration-destination array group.

摘要: An object is to allocate a storage area to a business application by taking a security evaluation of the storage area and a security evaluation value of the business application into consideration. A management server includes a business management table to store a calculated security evaluation value of a business application to be executed in a host in association with information concerning the business application, and a management table to store a calculated encryption level of a virtual pool in a storage device in association with information concerning the virtual pool. The management server retrieves a virtual pool having an encryption level which is the same in value as the evaluation value, and allocates the retrieved virtual pool to the business application.

摘要: Provided is a capacity monitoring method used for a computer system including one or more application computers, one or more storage systems, and a management computer. The storage system includes a physical disk and a disk controller. In the capacity monitoring method, a storage area of the physical disk belongs to a storage pool, the storage system provides a volume, and the management computer monitors a used capacity of the storage pool, judges whether or not a storage capacity required for operating the application computer for a predetermined time period is present in the storage pool based upon an increasing speed of the used capacity of the storage pool to be monitored, and executes a predetermined process operation when the storage capacity required for operating the application computer for the predetermined time period is not present in the storage pool. Accordingly, the storage pool is properly operated and managed.

摘要: Provided is a technique that effectively utilizes a replication to reduce inquiries to a location database, and thus allow data access at a high speed. According to this technique, a plurality of storage systems arranged in a distributed fashion are allocated to a plurality of groups, a file management database indicating locations of all the files in the storage systems belonging to the groups is synchronized between storage systems of the same group, and when file access is made to the group, a storage system storing the file is determined based on the file management database, thus being accessed. When an access request is for an update, the writing to the file is performed, and a replica of the file that has been written is transferred to a storage system in a different group.

摘要: Provided is a capacity monitoring method for use with a computer system including one or more application computers, one or more storage systems, and a management computer.
