    Abstract: An example methodology includes, by a computing device, receiving a request to migrate a logical unit number (LUN) from a source array to a target array and, responsive to a determination that the LUN is a large LUN, dividing the large LUN into a plurality of partitions, creating a number of sessions corresponding to the plurality of partitions, wherein each session of the created sessions is operable to migrate data from a partition of the plurality of partitions, and initiating the created sessions to start copying data from the respective partitions in parallel. The method may also include, by the computing device, responsive to a determination that the LUN is not a large LUN, creating a single session operable to migrate data from the LUN and initiating the single session to start copying data from the LUN.

    Abstract: In one general embodiment, a method includes storing a list of states for testing the effects of power loss by a solid state drive. Selection of one or more of the states is received. The solid state drive is instructed to generate an interrupt upon detecting the one or more of the selected states. The interrupt triggers a power loss to the solid state drive. The solid state drive is caused to perform a workload. In another general embodiment, a method includes receiving, by a solid state drive, instructions to generate an interrupt upon detecting a specified state of the solid state drive during processing of a workload. The workload is processed. The specified state is detected by the solid state drive while processing the workload. The interrupt is generated in response to detecting the specified state. The interrupt triggers a power loss to the solid state drive.

    Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system manages an object in a storage provider that provides a plurality of storage classes of storage. The method may include receiving a request for transfer of the object comprising segments from a first storage class to a second storage class of the storage provider; storing metadata associated with the object; determining that each of the segments satisfies a data storage policy based on the access characteristics of each of the segments within the object, wherein the determining includes: determining that none of the segments are referenced by the new segment for a predetermined time period; determining that none of the segments are accessed for the predetermined time period from the last accessed time instance; and in response to determining that each of the segments satisfies the data storage policy, transferring the object from the first storage class to the second storage class of the storage provider.
