Abstract: A recording medium heating device that can heat and dry a continuous recording medium, includes multiple heating rollers, including respective heaters, disposed on a conveying path of the recording medium; and a controller to control the heaters of the heating rollers. In a starting period during which the recording medium heating device is started, the controller sets temperatures of the heaters to starting temperatures where a temperature of a heating roller positioned closest to an exit side of the conveying path is lower than a temperature of a heating roller positioned away from the exit side of the conveying path.

Abstract: A breathable seat comprises a seat body formed of urethane foam, a three-dimensional network cushion body incorporated in that region of the seat body which bears a user's body, a seat cover having breathability, and a pan frame. The cushion body is formed of a large number of continuous linear elements of thermoplastic resin. The linear elements are looped windingly so that their respective contact portions are fused together. The seat body is formed having venting holes that penetrate the urethane foam in its thickness direction. The venting holes communicate with the cushion body and apertures of the pan frame. The seat cover envelops the seat body and the cushion body.

Abstract: A cushion manufacturing apparatus comprises a plurality of nozzles for continuously discharging a softened thermoplastic resin, thereby looping a plurality of continuous filaments with the respective contact portions thereof bonded together, first guide portions (41, 42) for moving the continuous filaments inward from opposite surfaces in the thickness direction of the cushion member as the filaments are looped, and second guide portions (43, 44) for moving the filaments inward from the opposite sides of the cushion member. The guide portions (41, 42; 43, 44) are provided with a plurality of rollers (50, 52, 60, 62) individually having outer peripheral surfaces projected or recessed corresponding to the outline of the profile of the cushion member and belts (54, 55, 64, 65) stretched between the rollers and capable of endlessly running to change the respective shapes thereof depending on the respective shapes of the outer peripheral surfaces of the rollers, thereby forming the shaping guide surfaces (56, 57, 66, 67).

Abstract: The invention relates to an optical switch which is used for connecting or switching light (optical signals) by utilizing optical fibers. An optical fiber tape (6) is fixed on an optical fiber placing base (2) by an adhesive agent. A plurality of slave side optical fibers (3) are caused to protrude from the optical fiber tape (6). plurality of V grooves (5) are formed at the front edge side of the slave side optical fibers (3), a groove formed member 1 which has the master optical fiber (4) fixed in the V grooves thereof is provided. The master optical fiber (4) is caused to move in the X and Y directions in the drawing, integral with the groove-formed member (1) by a master movement mechanism 25, whereby the connection end face side of the slave side optical fibers (3) is selectively inserted in the V groove (5a), and the master optical fiber (4) and slave side optical fibers (3) are optically connected to each other in a switchable state by the master optical fiber (4) being opposite the connection end face of the slave side optical fibers (3) in the V groove (5a). When they are optically connected to each other, the connection end face sides of the master optical fiber (4) and the slave side optical fibers 3 are pressed to, pinched in and retained in the V groove (5a) by a pressing member.
