摘要: An electrode for lithium ion recharged battery cell includes current collectors, a cathode layer, a separator and a cohesive anode mass. The cohesive anode mass includes silicon as an active material and a polymeric binder. The polymeric binder is a homo-polymer or copolymer of one or more monomers selected from the group consisting of acrylic acid, 3-butenoic acid, 2-methacrylic acid, 2-pentenoic acid, 2,3-dimethylacrylic acid, 3,3-dymethylacrylic acid, trans-butenedioc acid, cis-butenedioc acid and itaconic acid and optionally an alkali metal salt thereof. The silicon can include 20 to 100% of the active material in the cohesive mass. The binder is mixed with the silicon to form the cohesive mass that adheres to the current collector and maintains the cohesive mass in electrical contact with the current collector.

摘要: Supplemental lithium can be used to stabilize lithium ion batteries with lithium rich metal oxides as the positive electrode active material. Dramatic improvements in the specific capacity at long cycling have been obtained. The supplemental lithium can be provided with the negative electrode, or alternatively as a sacrificial material that is subsequently driven into the negative electrode active material. The supplemental lithium can be provided to the negative electrode active material prior to assembly of the battery using electrochemical deposition. The positive electrode active materials can comprise a layered-layered structure comprising manganese as well as nickel and/or cobalt.

摘要: The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery 10 provided by the present invention comprises a positive electrode 30, a negative electrode 50 and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode 50 includes a negative electrode current collector 52 and a negative electrode active material layer 54 formed on the current collector 52, the negative electrode active material layer 54 containing a negative electrode active material 55 capable of storing and releasing charge carriers and having shape anisotropy so that the charge carriers are stored and released along a predefined direction. The negative electrode active material layer 54 includes, at a bottom thereof contacting the current collector 52, a minute conductive material 57 with granular shape and/or minute conductive material 57 with fibrous shape having an average particle diameter that is smaller than that of the negative electrode active material 55, and includes, at the bottom thereof; a part of the negative electrode active material 55. At least 50% by number of the total amount of the negative electrode active material 55 is oriented so that the direction of storage and release of the charge carriers is at an angle of 45° or more and 90° or less relative to the surface of the current collector 52.

摘要: A laminated battery provided with an electricity-producing element and an outer case. The electricity-producing element contains a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolyte. The outer case comprises two sheets of laminating film and includes the following: a containing section that contains the electricity-producing element; and a sealing section that is formed around the edge of the containing section by bonding the sheets of laminating film to each other. Corners are formed along the boundary between the containing section and the sealing section, and an adhesive resin layer in the sealing section is thicker in corner regions near the aforementioned corners than in other regions.

摘要: A polymer battery module packaging sheet includes, as essential components, a base layer (61), an aluminum layer (62), chemical conversion coatings (64a, 64b) coating the opposite surfaces of the aluminum layer (62), and an innermost layer (63). The chemical conversion coatings (64a, 64b) are formed by processing the opposite surfaces of the aluminum layer (62) by a phosphate treatment method. The base layer (61) and the innermost layer (63) are bonded to the chemical conversion coatings (64a, 64b) of the aluminum layer (62) with adhesive layers (65a, 65b), respectively.

The current collector has nanoporous structure, such as that from etched metal, and a carbon coating in contact with the current collector. The carbon coating is free of binder. In some embodiments, the current collector includes etched aluminum. The provided electrically-conductive articles can be electrochemical capacitors or lithium-ion electrochemical cells.
