    摘要: A unique, fully integrated, fully programmable, and highly flexible sound distribution system and methodology for providing masking sound, background music, and paging capabilities in up to eight zones of a building or space is provided. The methodology embodied in the system includes internal masking sounds that are uniquely pre-filtered to provide efficient and effective masking of distracting sounds within selectable zones of the space with a minimum masking sound dB sound level and with a pleasant sounding and non-annoying masking sound. The system also incorporates the capacity to be controlled from a remote or local telephone to adjust the volume level in any zone serviced by the system by issuing appropriate DTMF codes from the telephone's keypad. Unique bi-tone diagnostic functions are provided for assuring that the entire system is correctly wired and installed and for troubleshooting operational anomalies. ⅓ octave equalization is provided to compensate for known frequency response characteristics of the flat panel radiators of the system and to compensate for varying room acoustics to provide a low special variation of sound among the various zones of the space. The result is a high quality high fidelity sound that is consistent from zone to zone.

    摘要: A bumper system includes a rollformed tubular beam with bracket mounts welded to a rear surface for mounting to vehicle frame rails. The illustrated beam has a continuous tubular cross section for its entire length, and includes a center section, corner-forming end sections, and mounting sections connecting ends of the center section to the end sections. The center, end and mounting sections can be linear or similarly curved or differently curved. The center, end and mounting sections can be similarly or differently locally annealed as part of being tuned to specific impact loading criteria, including annealing all or part of cross-sectional areas. The annealing can be done in-line with a rollforming process, such as to assist with forming tight radii in the beam for meeting packaging/space-related requirements, or can be part of a secondary process for advantageously affecting impact strengths in selected localized areas.

    摘要: A vehicle bumper beam includes front, rear, top and bottom walls and a reinforcement wall that define upper and lower tubes. The front wall includes a vertical section, an angled section, and a bent section. The reinforcement wall supports the angled section below the bent section to provide predictable and desired energy absorption. The angled section preferably includes an angled portion defining a first vertical dimension in the first tube and the vertical section defining a second vertical dimension, with a ratio of the first and second being about 1:3. Also preferably, the front wall is at least about 3 mm and the remaining walls are less than about 2.0 mm thickness, or more preferably the exterior ones of the remaining walls are less than about 1.7 mm. In one embodiment, the upper and lower tubes are spaced apart.

    摘要: A vehicle temperature control system includes a control assembly for directing a fluid actuating medium to selected ones of a plurality of door actuators to position a plurality of doors in selected modes of operation. The control assembly includes a valve housing defining a chamber, a fluid inlet passage and a plurality of opposed inlet cavities and outlet passages. A lever positioned slide valve is shiftable within the chamber. An array of control passages defined by the slide valve selectively place the inlet cavities in communication with the outlet passages. Seal members are disposed in each of the inlet cavities and outlet passages to insure that the fluid medium passes through the control passages. A mode selection lever engages the slide valve and also defines a cam surface for selectively actuating an air conditioner compressor switch.

    摘要: A B-shaped reinforcement beam is formed from a sheet of material to include vertically spaced upper and lower tubular sections, with a channel-shaped rib formed centrally in the unsupported portion of the front wall over each tube section. The ribs acts to stiffen and stabilize the front wall, causing the actual bending strength of the B beam to be much closer to expected theoretical values. In one form, the ribs have a vertical dimension about 33%-50% of a height of the tubular sections and a depth of about 50%-100% of the rib's height. The rib is particularly effective when the material is less than 2.2 mm, more than 80 KSI, and/or has a significant height-to-depth ratio such as 3:1.
