    摘要: A magnetic recording medium excellent in electromagnetic conversion characteristics and running characteristics is disclosed, which comprises a non-magnetic support and a magnetic layer formed thereon, said magnetic layer containing ferromagnetic particles dispersed in a binder, wherein said magnetic layer comprises a number of pores, said pores having(a) a total volume of not more than 0.1 ml/g per unit weight of said magnetic layer,(b) an average inlet radius of not more than 100 .ANG., and(c) an average inner radius larger than said average inlet radius and a difference of at least 50 .ANG. therebetween. The pores preferably have a total pore volume of 0.03 to 0.1 ml/g measured by a nitrogen gas absorption method and an average pore inlet radius of not more than 50 .ANG., and the magnetic layer contains a fluorine-containing ester compound.

    摘要: A magnetic recording medium comprising a non-magnetic support having thereon plural magnetic layers comprising a fine ferromagnetic powder and a binder and which are composed of at least two magnetic layers. In preparing the medium, a first magnetic layer-coating composition containing an epoxy compound having at least two epoxy groups is coated on the nonmagnetic support and a second magnetic layer-coating composition containing a polyisocyanate compound is coated over the first magnetic layer with a simultaneous or successive multiple layered coating method. The medium has an excellent electromagnetic characteristic and yields few dropouts, and it is usable as a medium for high density recording.

    摘要: A process for producing a magnetic recording material having excellent electromagnetic characteristics and sufficient abrasion resistance is disclosed. The process comprises the steps of coating on a support a magnetic recording composition containing a compound having an unsaturated bond polymerizable by irradiation with electron beams, an organic solvent capable of dissolving the compound and a ferromagnetic powder. The compound is subjected in sequence to a coating process on a nonmagnetic support, irradiated with an electron beam in an atmosphere containing oxygen at a concentration of 10,000 ppm or more and subjected to a smoothening treatment utilizing a specular surface, followed by an electron beam irradiation in an atmosphere containing oxygen at a concentration of 3,000 ppm or less.
