摘要： A non-metallic black toner is disclosed. The toner has toner particles containing at least a binder resin, a carbon black and an organometallic compound, and an external additive. The toner particles contain 10 to 200 ppm of at least one kind of alkali metal element and at least one kind of organometallic compound. The toner particles further contain a polyester resin. The non-metallic black toner has a weight-average particle diameter of 4 to 11 &mgr;m, the following loss tangents tan &dgr; shown by dielectric loss factor ∈″/dielectric constant ∈′ at frequencies of 5×104 Hz and 105 Hz: tan &dgr; (5×104 Hz)≦0.0125 tan &dgr; (105 Hz)≦0.0105, a Carr's flowability index of 50 or more, and a Carr's floodability index of 65 or more. Also, an image forming method is disclose using the black toner.

摘要： A toner for developing an electrostatic image is constituted by a binder resin and a colorant. C., and G'.sub.1% denotes a storage modulus at 1% strain at 150.degree. C.; a percentage change .gamma..sub.G" of at most 50% as calculated by the following formula (2):.gamma..sub.G" =(1-G".sub.50% /G".sub.1%).times.100 (2),wherein .gamma..sub.G" denotes a percentage change of loss modulus, G".sub.50% denotes a loss modulus at 50% strain, and G".sub.1% denotes a loss modulus at 1% strain; and a storage modulus G' of 3.times.10.sup.3 -7.times.10.sup.4 dyn/cm.sup.2 in a range of 1-50% strain at 150.degree. C. The toner is characterized by applicability to a wide variety of image forming apparatus, especially those having remarkably different fixing speeds.

The toner shows a dynamic modulus and a loss modulus, respectively at 200.degree. C. and 0.1 Hz, which are substantially unchanging with time. The properties provide the toner with a harmonization of anti-offset characteristic and fixability as well as stable viscoelasticity under heating.

摘要： An image forming method in which a toner-carrying member for carrying a specific magnetic toner is placed adjacent a latent image-bearing member for carrying an electrostatic latent image so as to form a developing region of a predetermined gap size. The magnetic toner on the toner-carrying member forms a toner layer of a regulated thickness smaller than the above-mentioned gap. An asymmetric bias is applied to the magnetic toner so as to cause the magnetic toner from the toner-carrying member to be conveyed to the latent image-bearing member thereby to develop the electrostatic latent image.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide a toner which allows fixation at low temperatures, which is excellent in anti-offset ability, and which provides a high quality image at high and low humidities in a stable manner without causing any image defect over time. Provided is a toner, containing at least a binder resin and a colorant in which: the binder resin in the toner contains 60% by mass or more of a styrene/acryl resin and a THF-insoluble fraction A which is an extraction residue obtained by carrying out Soxhlet extraction with tetrahydrofuran (THF) for 16 hours; the THF-insoluble fraction A contains a TOL-insoluble fraction B which is an extraction residue obtained by carrying out Soxhlet extraction with toluene (TOL) for 16 hours; and a mass ratio (B/A) between the THF-insoluble fraction A and the TOL-insoluble fraction B is in the range of 0.1≦B/A≦0.5.

摘要： A toner is disclosed which is composed of toner particles containing at least a binder resin, a colorant and a wax, and an external additive. The wax has, in its DSC endothermic curve, a maximum endothermic peak at 55° C. to 80° C. within the temperature range from 30° C. to 160° C., the maximum endothermic peak having a half width of from 2° C. to 7° C., and the binder resin is composed chiefly of a polyester resin. The toner has a dynamic elastic modulus from 5×102 to 1×105 dN/m2 at 140° C., and its ratio to a dynamic elastic modulus at 170° C. is from 0.05 to 50, and the toner contains 10 to 20% by weight of THF-insoluble matter A of a binder resin component after 8 hours from the start of extraction and 1 to 10% by weight of THF-insoluble matter B of the binder resin component after 24 hours from the start of extraction, the ratio of A to B, B/A, being from 0.1 to 0.8. Also disclosed is a fixing method making use of this toner.
