摘要: An organic light emitting diode (OLED) device having a cathode, a light emitting layer and an anode, in that order, and having located between the cathode and the light emitting layer, (a) a first electron transport layer comprising (i) more than 50 vol % of a salt or complex of an alkali or alkaline earth metal and (ii) a carbocyclic fused ring aromatic compound; and (b) a second electron transport layer, different from the first electron transport layer, in contact with the first electron transport layer on the cathode side and comprising a compound with a 7,10-diaryl substituted fluoranthene nucleus having no aromatic rings annulated to the fluoranthene nucleus. The device provides reduced drive voltage and good luminance with improved T90 lifetime.

摘要: A tandem OLED device having spaced electrodes includes broadband light-emitting units disposed between the electrodes that produce different emission spectra and each light-emitting unit produces light that has multiple spaced peak spectral components, and an intermediate connector disposed between each of the light-emitting units. The device also includes an array of at least three different color filters associated with the device which receives light from the broadband light-emitting units, the band pass of each of the color filters being selected to produce different colored light, wherein the full width at about half maximum of at least one of such spaced peak spectral components produced by each emitting unit is within the band pass of a color filter, and wherein each of the at least three different color filters receives at least one spaced peak spectral component having a full width at about half maximum that is within its band pass.

摘要: White light-emitting OLED device having an anode and a cathode, comprising: a first light-emitting layer provided over the anode and containing a first host material and a first light-emitting material, wherein the first host material is a mixture of one or more mono-anthracene derivatives and one or more aromatic amine derivatives, wherein the mono-anthracene derivative(s) being provided in a volume fraction range of greater than 50% and less than or equal to 95% relative to the total layer volume, and the aromatic amine derivative(s) being provided in a volume fraction range of 1% to 40% relative to the total layer volume, and wherein the first light-emitting material has a peak emission in the yellow to red portion of the spectrum; a second light-emitting layer provided over or under the first light-emitting layer, wherein the second light-emitting layer has a peak emission in the blue to cyan portion of the spectrum.

摘要: A tandem OLED device having two spaced electrodes comprising first and second light-emitting units disposed between the electrodes wherein each light emitting unit has at least one light emitting layer with an intermediate connector disposed between each of the light-emitting units. The intermediate connector includes an electron accepting organic layer in contact with the first light emitting unit and an n-type doped organic layer in contact with the electron accepting organic layer and the second light-emitting unit. The n-type doped organic layer includes an organic gallium complex. The devices exhibit improved stability and little change in color when current density is varied.

The OLED also includes at least one intermediate connector, wherein each of the intermediate connectors includes at least one layer, and wherein each of the intermediate connectors is disposed between electroluminescent units, wherein the thickness of each layer in each of the electroluminescent units and the intermediate connectors is selected to satisfy the test condition that the voltage drop from the anode to the cathode is less than 4.0 V×N (the number of electroluminescent units) at 20 mA/cm2.

摘要: Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) that produce white light include an anode, a hole-transporting layer disposed over the anode, a blue light-emitting layer disposed over the hole-transporting layer, an electron-transporting layer disposed over the blue light-emitting layer, and a cathode disposed over the electron-transporting layer. The hole-transporting layer is doped with both a yellow-emitting and a red-emitting dopant. When used together with red, green, and blue color filters, the OLEDs produce red, green, and blue light with good color quality and high efficiency. Also disclosed are multicolor display devices utilizing the OLEDs together with color filters or together with both color filters and liquid-crystal light valves.

摘要: An organic light-emitting diode (OLED) device which produces substantially white light includes a substrate; an anode disposed over the substrate; and a hole injecting layer disposed over the anode. The device further includes a hole-transport layer disposed over the hole injecting layer; a yellow light-emitting layer having rubrene or a derivative thereof greater than 50% by volume of the constituents of such yellow light-emitting layer that emits light in the yellow region of the spectrum and is disposed on the hole-transport layer; a light-emitting layer doped with a blue light-emitting compound, disposed directly on the yellow light-emitting layer; an electron-transport layer disposed over the blue light-emitting layer; and a cathode disposed over the electron-transport layer.
