Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to dynamically discover and host services in fog servers are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a service manager to determine that a received service request from an Internet of things (IoT) device is not able to be performed locally at a first fog server; a first interface to transmit the service request to a fog resource manager; and a second interface to transmit instructions to the IoT device to transmit the service request to a second fog server, a response from the fog resource manager including service data related to the second fog server.

Abstract: Disclosed are various examples for top-of-rack (TOR) switch replacement in hyper-converged computing environments. A bring-up network configuration is applied to a network switch to install the network switch in a rack. An active workload within the rack is analyzed to identify a workload network configuration for the active workload. The active workload is reassigned to the network switch from a faulty network switch. The network switch is configured based on the workload network configuration for the active workload.

Abstract: Systems and methods herein can provide virtual resource management for hyper-converged infrastructures. In an example, a method can include identifying an overloaded cluster requesting at least one resource, the overloaded cluster including a hypervisor on a virtual machine. The method can further include identifying an additional cluster having a free resource corresponding to the requested resource. The method can include instantiating a nested host on the additional cluster, the nested host being configured to provide the free resource and the nested hosted comprising an additional hypervisor that manages an additional virtual machine. Further, the method can include registering the nested host with the overloaded cluster such that the overloaded cluster is authorized to use the free resource.

Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and software to improve distribution of service information in a computing environment. In one implementation, a computing element identifies a modification to a locally maintained service data structure that maintains status information for services of a computing environment. In response to the modification, the computing element may identify a key-value pair and add the key-value pair to a gateway protocol packet. Once added to the packet, the computing element may communicate the packet to a second computing element.

Abstract: Disclosed are various examples for top-of-rack (TOR) switch replacement in hyper-converged computing environments. A hyper-converged management service can maintain network configurations applied to a first network switch of a rack. When the performance of the first network switch does not satisfy a performance threshold, the hyper-converged management service can decommission the first network switch in the rack and configure a second network switch for replacement of the first network switch in the rack by accessing the at least one network configuration applied to the first network switch from the memory and applying the at least one network configuration to the second network switch.
