    Abstract: A photovoltaic power source includes a receptacle to receive a photofuel including a liquid, and one or more photovoltaic cells positioned within the receptacle to receive light emitted from the photofuel when the photofuel is in the receptacle. The photovoltaic power source also includes power circuitry coupled to the one or more photovoltaic cells to receive a photocurrent generated by the one or more photovoltaic cells when the one or more photovoltaic cells receive the light emitted from the photofuel. In response to the photocurrent, the power circuitry is coupled to output electricity.

    Abstract: An in-ear device includes a housing shaped to be held in an ear of a user, and be positioned around a canal of the ear so the canal is unobstructed by the in-ear device, and an audio package positioned within the housing to project sound into the canal when the in-ear device is disposed in the ear. A controller is disposed in the housing and coupled to the audio package, and the controller includes logic that when executed by the controller causes the in-ear device to perform operations, including emitting the sound from the audio package towards the canal of the ear.

    Abstract: An in-ear device includes a housing shaped to hold the in-ear device in an ear of a user, and an audio package, disposed in the housing, to emit augmented sound. A first set of one or more microphones is positioned to receive external sound, and a controller is coupled to the audio package and the first set of one or more microphones. The controller includes a low-latency audio processing path, digital control parameters, and logic that when executed by the controller causes the in-ear device to perform operations. The operations may include receiving the external sound with the first set of one or more microphones to generate a low-latency sound signal; augmenting the low-latency sound signal by passing the low-latency sound signal through the low-latency audio processing path to produce an augmented sound signal; and outputting, with the audio package, the augmented sound based on the augmented sound signal.

    Abstract: A system for charging in-ear device battery packages includes a housing with a lid and a body, and a hinge system attaching the lid to the body. A charging unit is shaped to fit in the body, and includes a battery. One or more slots are disposed in the body that are exposed when the lid is open. The one or more slots are shaped to receive one or more of the in-ear device battery packages, and charge the one or more in-ear device battery packages with energy stored in the battery.

    Abstract: An in-ear device includes a housing shaped to hold the in-ear device in an ear, and an audio package, disposed in the housing, to emit sound. A tympanic membrane measurement unit (TMMU) is structured to measure a movement of a tympanic membrane in the ear caused by external sound received by the tympanic membrane, and a controller is coupled to the audio package and the TMMU. The controller includes logic that when executed by the controller causes the in-ear device to perform operations. The operations include measuring a movement of the tympanic membrane, and in response to measuring the movement of the tympanic membrane, outputting sound from the audio package to destructively interfere with the external sound received by the tympanic membrane.
