The method further includes receiving a selection of a selected one of the words from the one or more word lists, and entering the selected one of the words into the new message. Also provided is an improved handheld electronic device that implements the described method.

摘要： There is provided a multi-tap keyboard user interface with auditory feedback. In one embodiment, there is provided a method for controlling operation of a mobile device having a plurality of input devices, comprising associating groups of one or more keys of the input devices to define at least one input region and in response to an input received from said input devices, performing an associated action for operating the device, responding equally to any input from a same input region. A repeated input (multi-tap) to a same input region cycles through a plurality of actions associated with the input region. Auditory feedback comprising a vocalized description of the action is provided. The multi-tap keyboard user interface with auditory feedback may adapt a mobile device (e.g. PDA or smart phone) for use by visually impaired users.

The inventive method comprises predefining a priority sequence of frequencies in association with each of a plurality of locations. Itinerary information is received and a current expected location of the device in real-time based is determined based on the itinerary information. The device then scans frequencies according to any priority sequence predefined for the current expected location.

摘要： There is disclosed a system and method of dynamically managing spam directed to a communications device. In an embodiment, a contact for each incoming message item is compared to contacts on a whitelist. If the contact is not found on the whitelist, the contact is added to a blacklist based on predetermined criteria. At a selected time, a summary of each message item corresponding to a contact on the blacklist is made available to the communications device. Based on this summary, a user selects contacts to transfer from the blacklist to the whitelist. The user selection is received, and any message items corresponding to a contact on the whitelist are transmitted to the communications device.
