    摘要: In a liquid crystal display comprising a plurality of pixels each of which has an switching element, a plurality of drain drivers and gate drivers for operating the switching elements and the pixels, and a plurality of drain lines and gate lines supplying signals from the drain drivers and the gate drivers to the switching elements being formed on one of a pair of substrates sandwiching a liquid crystal layer, the present invention provides wiring lines formed on the one of a pair of substrates for transferring display data signals and a clock signal between each pair of the plurality of drain drivers adjacent to one another, and provides at least one gate circuit for at least one of the plurality of drain drivers which is controlled by the clock signal and switches the display data signals and the clock signal either (1) to be acquired by the at least one of the plurality of drain drivers or (2) to be transferred to another of the plurality of drain drivers arranged adjacent to the at least one of the plurality of drain drivers. This liquid crystal display device has an advantage, for instance, or of suppressing electromagnetic interference (EMI) to another equipment surrounding the liquid crystal display device, of preventing the display data signals or the clock signal from being distorted in the wiring lines.

    摘要: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device which can obviate cutting off of a peripheral region of the liquid crystal display device which is provided with an inspection circuit and can surely perform the inspection of an image display even when the peripheral region is narrowed. On a substrate of the liquid crystal display device, a pixel region which is comprised of a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of drain lines and a peripheral region which surrounds the pixel region are formed. A turn-on inspection terminal of the liquid crystal display device are formed on the peripheral region and a semiconductor chip for driving liquid crystal is formed on the inspection terminal. The semiconductor chip is electrically insulated from the inspection terminal.

    摘要: A scanning-line selecting circuit is configured by connecting basic circuits with each other over plural stages. Each of the basic circuits includes a basic scanning-line driving circuit and a voltage raising circuit. A basic scanning signal is inputted into the basic scanning-line driving circuit, which, then, outputs a scanning signal. A charge pulse, a selecting signal, and a discharge pulse are inputted into the voltage raising circuit, which, then, drives the basic scanning-line driving circuit. Accordingly, in the basic circuits, there exists none of the problems of threshold-value shift and voltage lowering. This characteristic makes it possible to implement high efficiency and stable operation.

    摘要: Signal lines include a first signal line, a second signal line formed on the first signal line via a first insulating film, and a transparent conductive film formed on the second signal line via a second insulating layer. The transparent conductive film is formed so as to cover a first connection hole which penetrates to the first signal line through the first insulating layer and the second insulating layer and a second connection hole which penetrates to the second signal line through the second insulating layer. A recess portion formed in the first insulating layer and/or the second insulating layer is disposed between the connection hole close to the side edge portion of the substrate of the first and second connection holes. The side edge portion of the transparent conductive film extends to a bottom of the recess portion.

    摘要: A display device includes a display region which is constituted of a plurality of partial regions, and drive circuits which are connected to a plurality of video signal lines for respective partial regions. The video signal lines and the drive circuits are connected with each other via relay lines. A center line of the drive circuit and a center line of the partial region are arranged at positions displaced from each other, and the relay lines have a bent portion between the drive circuit and the video signal lines. By forming the bent portion on the relay line, the line resistances of the relay lines can be adjusted thus decreasing display irregularities generated by the positional displacement of the drive circuit.

A polarization state converting structure to convert a polarization state of the light propagating through the light guide plate is provided in a rear surface of the light guide plate. The polarization state converting structure contains an inclination plane having a ridge line extending in a direction perpendicular to the extension direction of the one end surface.
