摘要: Molten slag fresh from a smelting or refining furnace is ladled into a pan on a wheeled carriage and is thereby transported to a first heat recovery station, where water is heated by radiation from the slag while the latter is being agitated and granulated. On granulation the slag is conveyed as by a skip hoist to a second heat recovery station, where the residual heat of the slag is utilized to heat air by convection. The heated air is directed into a utility device such as a boiler, from which the cooled air is fed back to the second heat recovery station for reheating. Several embodiments are disclosed.

摘要: A device that prevents exhaust gas leakage during movement of an electrode in an electric furnace. An electrode holder is attached to the electrode. An actuator moves the electrode between first and second positions within an aperture formed in an upper portion of the furnace. A fixed section is attached to a waste charging station. A first moving section is moveably coupled with the fixed section, a second moving section is moveably coupled with the first section and fixedly attached to the electrode holder on a first side, and a third moving section is fixedly attached to the electrode holder on a second side opposite the first side. The device moves between a retracted position in which the first and second moving sections are adjacent to the fixed member, and an extended position in which the first and second moving sections are distal from the fixed member.

摘要: An electrostatic precipitator having a plurality of electrostatic precipitation units positioned within the electrostatic precipitator. Each of the electrostatic precipitation units includes a plurality of negative wire electrodes and a plurality of positive electrode plates. The electrostatic precipitation units are arranged such that spacing between the negative wire electrodes of a first electrostatic precipitation unit is a first distance apart, and spacing between the negative wire electrodes of additional electrostatic precipitation units is less than the spacing between the negative wire electrodes of the first electrostatic precipitation unit. Moreover, a variable voltage is applied to the each of the electrostatic precipitation units between the positive electrode plates and the negative wire electrodes so as to cause particles in the exhaust gas to adhere to the positive electrode plates.

摘要: A concentration measuring apparatus includes an enzyme electrode which accelerates an oxidation reaction or a reduction reaction of a test substance in a liquid and outputs an electrical signal corresponding to a quantity of the test substance therefrom due to the reaction. The enzyme electrode is supplied with a reviving voltage for removing interfering substances on the enzyme electrode not only prior to concentration measuring but also according to a predetermined time interval. The reviving voltage has a polarity which is the reverse of the voltage used for concentration measurement.
