A method to control a communication device to communicate with a first external device in a first communication method and with a second external device in a second communication method being different from the first communication method is provided. The method includes steps of determining prior to communicating in the first communication method whether the communication device is set to communicate in the second communication method, switching the communication methods in the communication device from the second communication method to the first communication method when it is determined that the communication device is set to communicate in the second communication method, and communicating with the first external device in the first communication method after switching the communication methods.

An image processing device include a memory, a rasterizer and a color space converter. The rasterizer is configured to generate raster data expressed in a first color space by rendering an object in the memory. The color space converter is configured to convert the raster data from the first color space to a second color space capable of being set so as to reproduce gray of gray pixels in the object by any one of a black coloring material and mixture of multiple color materials. The rasterizer determines whether the gray is reproduced by the black coloring material or the mixture of multiple color materials based on an attribute of the object and adds the gray reproduction information that is obtained from the determination to the raster data. The color space converter sets pixel levels in the second color space based on the gray reproduction information.

A color space converting section of an image processing device waits to output when acquiring partial data including gray prior to partial data including a chromatic color. After starting to wait, when acquiring partial data including a chromatic color, the converting section outputs multi-color converted data as the converted data expressing gray by a combination of densities of the multiple colors with respect to the partial data its output has been waited. While, when the acquisition of the image data was completed without acquiring any partial data including a chromatic color, the converting section outputs a single black color converted data as the converted data expressing gray by a density of a single color black with respect to the partial data its output has been waited. When acquiring partial data including a chromatic color, then the converting section converts partial data acquired thereafter into the multi-color converted data.

A printing system includes an image forming device and an information processing device configured to transmit print data containing a plurality of pages of images to the image forming device and control the image forming device to print the images on sheets based on the print data. The method comprises the steps of: accepting a request for information concerning the printer driver; inquiring of at least one function filter about function information in accordance with configuration information containing a reference to the at least one function filter, in response to receipt of the request; obtaining, from the at least one function filter, the function information containing at least one current function of the at least one function filter, as a response to the inquiring; and providing the obtained function information for a requesting source of the request.
