Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods, systems, and devices for providing fast mobility. In one form, a processor of user equipment detects a trigger event associated with activating or switching to one or more transmission control indication (TCI) states of a TCI states set associated with a first physical cell ID (PCI) for uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) transmission when one or more TCI states for a TCI state set associated with a second PCI is used by the user equipment for at least one of UL or DL transmission in one serving cell. The processor of the user equipment may then perform a procedure of activating or switching to the one or more TCI states of a TCI state set associated with the first PCI for UL and DL transmission in one serving cell.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods, systems, and devices for providing fast mobility. In one form, a processor of user equipment initiates a random access procedure in one serving cell. Further, the processor of the user equipment selects a synchronization signal block (SSB) or a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) associated with a transmission control indication (TCI) state associated with a first physical cell ID (PCI), the SSB or the CSI-RS having a reference signaling received power (SSB-RSRP or CSI RSRP) that is above a threshold value.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and systems for a beam failure recovery on one or more secondary cells are described. In one example aspect, a wireless communication method includes receiving, by a first device, parameters configured to carry out beam failure detection and beam failure recovery for secondary cells associated with the first device, determining, by the first device, whether a beam failure event has occurred on at least one of the secondary cells based on at least one of the parameters, performing, upon a determination that the beam failure event has occurred, a beam failure recovery procedure for the secondary cell with the beam failure event, and terminating the beam failure recovery procedure upon an occurrence of a termination event.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to to methods, systems, and devices for performing a discontinuous reception operation for radio link failure and beam failure. In some forms, a method for wireless communication includes user equipment detecting a beam failure tendency for a serving cell of one discontinuous reception (DRX) group or a radio link failure tendency for the serving cell of one DRX group, and in response, either suspending the discontinuous reception operation at the user equipment or adjusting, with the processor, a duration of a subsequent discontinuous reception cycle for the DRX group that the serving cell belongs to. By aborting a currently configured DRX operation or shortening a duration of subsequent DRX cycles, the user equipment is able to more quickly recover from a beam failure or a radio link failure.

Abstract: Some techniques for efficiently indicating a mapping relationship from physical random access channel preambles and/or random access resource specific to one or more system information blocks in a wireless communication network are described. One example method includes transmitting, from a network node, a message that identifies a number of random access preambles that are reserved for transmissions of system information requests by mobile devices.

Abstract: In wireless communication, a device may change, add, or handover between cells of network access for inter-cell mobility. This may include Layer 1 and/or Layer 2 (L1/L2) signaling for a user equipment (UE) moving between cells in a network. The signaling can reduce the mobility interruption time and improve robustness of a handover. The movement may be triggered by the network or the UE. A Layer 1 and/or Layer 3 (L1/L3) measurement is used for the inter-cell mobility. The mobility may be coordinated based on interactions between a centralized unit (CU) and a distributed unit (DU). The procedures can reduce interruption time and improve reliability.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to methods and devices for managing measurement of quality of the radio link between the wireless network access node and the user equipment in a wireless communication system. In one implementation, the method may include obtaining, by a user equipment, an information on adjusting an indication period. The indication period may represent a time period during every which a radio link quality indication being sent to an upper layer of the user equipment. The radio link quality indication may indicate quality of a radio link between the user equipment and a wireless access network node. The method may further include determining, based on the information, whether to adjust the indication period.
