Abstract:
Several systems, apparatuses, and methods are described. A data transmission that includes data indicating a first search query for an item of a publication system is received from a client machine. A first plurality of search results is determined from listed items based, at least in part, on the first search query, and the first plurality of search results are each associated with a price. A range of prices associated with a first subset of the search results is determined based on a price distribution range including a median price associated with the first search results, or a utility cost function using a plurality of price quantiles and a plurality of price values included in different price quantiles. The determined first search results and the range of prices associated with the first subset of the first search results are transmitted to the client machine for display.
Abstract:
In various example embodiments, a system and method for enhancing autocomplete search suggestions are presented. The system receives a query portion with a token portion from a client device and generates a first search query suggestion set having a first order based on the token portion. The system accesses a token pool associated with the client device and generates a second search query suggestion set having a second order based on the token portion and the token pool. The system selects a first subset of search query suggestions and a second subset of search query suggestions. The system merges the first subset of search query suggestions and the second subset of search query suggestions into a third search query suggestion set, organizes the third search query suggestion set into a third order distinct from the first and second orders, and causes presentation of the third search query suggestion set.
Abstract:
A user may submit a search query to a search engine, which may process the search query and generate a set of results. Previous actions of the user or of other users may be used to identify recommended search queries. The recommended search queries may be presented to the user along with the search results for the query. The location of the recommended search queries may be fixed, set by the user, or determined on a query-by-query basis. A user interface element operable to cause the presentation of one or more recommended search queries may be presented after a delay. After an additional or independent delay, the recommended search queries may be presented automatically. The delays may be fixed, set by the user, or determined on a query-by-query basis.

Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to apparatuses, systems, and methods for enhancing search results based on a user's interaction history with a publication system (e.g., an electronic marketplace). As described herein, embodiments may infer various refinements for search queries; these refinements are based, at least in part, on the user's previous interactions with the search platform (e.g., from one or more previous sessions) of the publication system. In other words, as the user continuously interacts with the search platform of the publication system across multiple sessions, one or more of refinements may be inferred to help make the search results more relevant to the user.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to apparatuses, systems, and methods for enhancing search results based on recent user interactions. As described herein, embodiments may infer various refinements for search queries; these refinements are based, at least in part, on the user's recent interactions with the search platform (e.g., within a current session). In other words, as the user is interacting with the search platform, one or more refinements may be inferred to help make the search results more relevant to the user.

Abstract:
A description of an abstraction of items may be received as an input from a device operated by a user. The abstraction of the items may represent a group of items. Item descriptors may be accessed from a database based on the description of the abstraction of the group of items. Moreover, the item descriptors may describe the items included in the abstraction of the items. After being accessed from the database, the item descriptors may be used in generating a search query. Lastly, the generated search query may be presented to the device operated by the user.
Abstract:
A computerized method for evaluating human judges, products and services. An amount of currency for bidding and a corresponding plurality of items, with each item having a defined price, may be presented to a user. A bid for one or more of the plurality of items may be obtained. The one or more bids may each be compared with a defined price of the corresponding item. A score may be determined based on the one or more bids. Products, services, and search algorithms and techniques may be evaluated based on the bids, and search algorithms and techniques may be developed based on the bids. Human judges may be evaluated based on results of the corresponding bids.
